  1. Trans/RDU/PTU service costs

I had the dealer do a cursory inspection of my hybrid's transmission to check for leaks, fluid quantity, and fluid quality when my first annual maintenance rolled around. They made sure that the levels were good and that there were no obvious signs of leaks or contamination of the fluid. Going...
  2. Replacement Tire suggestion: Goodyear Wrangler territory HT

I have a set of the 19" Goodyear Wrangler HT's with about 3k easy miles on them that I'll part with for any reasonable offer for anyone that'll pick up from South Central PA. Replaced them with Michelin CrossClimate2's due to my job requiring attendance in all weather. I agree that the...
  3. 2025 Charging pad

The problem is using wireless Android Auto / Apple CarPlay / GPS Mapping with wireless charging in progress. Every phone and every quality wireless charger has the same problem... overheating. The AA/CP/GPS and induction charging combos are no bueno. If you're charging an idle phone there isn't...
  4. Latest Hybrid vs EcoBoost Comparison Showdown (The Fast Lane)

A performance tuned hybrid could be a very interesting street truck or rock crawler. I'm not aware of any technical limitations stopping Ford here, just the will to do so. Maybe the 2.0EB + hybrid powertrain.
  5. Some form of automatic braking is annoying me

I've not had any of the nannys overly bother me after adjusting the settings to taste. There is an occasional hiccup but it's immediately understandable what happened usually. However, I'm going to be honest... every time I ride with someone who complains about their collision warnings, lane...
  6. Post YOUR Maverick TRUCKING!

Antique rocking chair being moved across town to a new home. I had a load of 8 full size truck wheels for a RAM 1500 (summer and winter sets) that I didn't grab a picture of. Mostly move around air, but getting about 40MPG doing it so no guilt. 😄
  7. Some form of automatic braking is annoying me

2025 Lariat Hybrid... My ACC will not brake if the car merging ahead of me is accelerating away even if they cut me off. It will brake if they aren't accelerating away from me and I'm gaining on them.
  8. Best riding all weather tire you've found

Michelin CrossClimate2's have my seal of approval. Check out tyrereviews on YouTube, they have a ton of AW tire tests. But if you want a noticeablely smoother ride you need more sidewall or an upgraded suspension.
  9. Anyone else out there make regular use of N?

Audi has a rocker shifter (R/N/D) with a park button. Pretty intuitive, up is reverse, down is drive/drive mode and press the P button for park. Parking brake is the same finger lever as the Maverick. Honestly prefer it to the Mav dial shifter, but I don't dislike the dial shifter either.
  10. If you bought Maverick again today… Hybrid or EcoBoost

The documentation states that it just increases regen to max, but I and other posters think it has some undocumented effects as well. I'm almost certain that it changes the pedal input too. As for the speed of the engine I'm not sure... a poster with some free time and live OBD2 data could...
  11. If you bought Maverick again today… Hybrid or EcoBoost

Ford has officially stated that there is no harm in using 'L' continuously on the hybrid. The intention is for things like steep downgrades or when maximum regen is desired... but it can be used as much as you like.
  12. If you bought Maverick again today… Hybrid or EcoBoost

If I wanted neck snapping acceleration I wouldn't buy either vehicle. Given the narrow performance gap of both, I'd stick with the hybrid and hop on my motorcycle if I felt the need for speed. Just an FYI, I'm currently driving a 2026 Audi A3 S-Line Sportback that is slower than both Mavericks...
  13. Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?

We've had record highs and lows since buying my Mav (-5F to 105F). I have it scheduled start idle for 15 mins prior to going to work and 15 mins before leaving work... sonetimes using extended idle if I get held up. About 4,500 on the odometer and the OLM was in the %-teens when I had the annual...
  14. How to disable automatic Electric Brake when backing down a hill with door open.

Rear brake assist can be turned off in the options menu on the large screen. If you need to back up a steep hill, it will emergency brake thinking you might be backing into a wall or vehicle. Useful if someone pulls out behind you in a parking lot, annoying if you have an inclined driveway you...
  15. This will be the last Ford I buy

I have a co-worker that just got a new Tacoma. Between his anemic down payment, high interest rate long-term loan, and apparent lack of haggling, I estimate he'll pay about $65,000 for it all said and done. I got a chance to climb in the back seat and it was WAY tighter than the Maverick is. The...
  16. Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?

I agree that even with an intelligent oil life monitor that people should still check the dipstick and cap for things like gas dilution and condensation.
  17. Longest hybrid oil change interval?!?

I can paraphrase this as "intentionally misuse the equipment and see what happens." The monitor uses sensor data about the vehicle state to determine how hard the oil is being used. It doesn't sample the oil directly, so intentionally telling it that the oil is in a different than expected...
  18. Daily morning commute MPG

The fuel pump in the hybrid isn't working very hard, it's a low pressure pump and not in use constantly. The manual has a warning to avoid running out of fuel under the catalytic converter section, but doesn't mention the fuel pump...
  19. Daily morning commute MPG

There is still likely close to a gallon of gas left in the tank when DTE shows 0.
  20. Mice in my Air Box

I think it was a joke maybe, or was targeted at a different post? It's aerospace rated for aircraft engine bays so I think the Maverick will be alright. 😄
