But that was the early report before they just told us $20k with the 7500 tax incentive... Too much money for what it is. If you have to use the tax break to make it affordable when it is this bare bones something is wrong. You get a lot more for the same money in the Maverick to be honest.
I really like the strip down get only what you want approach for this. However the short range and slow charging speeds will be what holds it back. 150 miles on small battery and 240 on the large with a max charging speed as of this announcement 120kw with no idea of the charging curve.
I...
That I don't know about pre-existing conditions etc. when it comes to buying the extended warranty. Might be a question for the service department at your local dealer to see how they would treat it if you bought the warranty.
It isn't a $600 warranty. JMCGarage was stating that the cost of the part plus labor to do the replacement yourself is going to be roughly $600 per side. I was just mentioning if you are going to replace them with the updated part that to do both sides would be $1200 out of pocket. The closer...
Yes, the MY25 is the beefed up CVs, but it is a TBD with the test of time and use if that fully addressed the issue. It appears everyone assumed when they replaced the previous CVs that would address the problem, but it appears it comes back.
I saw someone state the parts are $200 and labor would run about $400. So about $600 per side. That isn't far off from what it costs to by the extended warranty. No one knows for sure if the redesigned part has fixed the issue just yet. Time will tell that story.
It's all about temps, and the thermal management of the battery. It seems to me that Ford isn't fully utilizing the heat exchanger to bring battery temps up in the winter to where they should be for optimum performance. With the Hybrid it actually should have an advantage with the combustion...
I think he said 55k miles is when his hit. Hopefully it is a one off and a "one and done" sort of thing. Anyone who drives high miles or keeps vehicles for a long time are the ones to be concerned if there is a pattern of failure. So far there doesn't appear to be a pattern. Like I mentioned...
I think if you watch any of JMCGarage you will see the updates are not click bait. He could have easily highlighted that issue and made it clickbait, but he didn't. He was just a Maverick owner who drives A LOT that posted regular updates. I think if you look you will see he wasn't playing...
That was my thinking as well. The dealer service folks seem to have been lax here if they were going to let that go back out. The customer reported the issue and it was surely logged. Like you said it wasn't "currently" in that state so maybe that was the deciding factor, but it does give...
Thanks for adding your experience here. Sounds very similar to JMCGarage's story. This is interesting. Please do let us know what happens and your experience. Seems strange that when they put a scanner on the truck that they didn't detect the previous alarms for the HV battery. Things that...
JMC said it was all covered under warranty. He did find out what the battery would have cost if he had to pay for it. We owned a 2005 Escape Hybrid and it just now needs a battery replaced. It has been degraded for a bit, but still usable. Now it finally needs some love, but the Escape has...
I was watching some JMCGarage on Youtube at his 90k mile update and he mentioned Ford had to replace his HV battery. I searched here to see if there was anything out there about this, but seems my search kungfu is weak or there isn't a lot out there on it. Anyone know how common this issue is...
So has Ford actually addressed this issue with the heat exchanger? Is it still a single welded piece? Is it considered part of the hybrid system and covered for the 8yrs or something else?
Just a quick question about software updates on the Maverick. Does the Maverick get updates? How often? What are some of the features you have seen added, taken away etc in the OTA updates if you have gotten any? Thanks!
I originally thought the midgate idea sounded cool. But then I did a mental inventory of the hay, feed, wood, mulch, and misc things I haul in my trucks and realize I don't have that many things that I could drop the midgate for to use for hauling something. I guess there would be something...
