The whole stops charging at 80% rumor has been disproven multiple times.
Gotta get that incorrect tribal wisdom out.
Usually it drops to float charge from then on - 14.xV and less than 1A.
But sometimes it doesn't immediately.
But it still charges.
Doesn't do that on the 24MY though.
Battery related figures are still stored in BMS regarding battery age and cumulative charge/discharge, likely other unviewable ones too. Despite a disconnect for several minutes. Nor was radio settings gone, so it wasn't that long of disconnect.
Strangely the...
Perhaps they do test the Mav and lip is there for a reason.
https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/ford-air-tunnel-testing-tailgate-myth-and-tonneau-cover-aerodynamics-mpg.37901/
That video caused me to notice better the lip on the back edge of the tailgate.
So IF the Maverick was designed as nicely as the example truck - and at whatever speed the airflow goes past the tailgate - fine.
But go slower, now it's actually catching a lip.
Seems like a bad idea for air flow...
The decision to be in battery save mode is the resting voltage from long enough off it's a valid reading - couple hours may not be long enough, I know it's not actually, as I've had inflated reading after couple hours, and still max BSM with lights off immediately.
Your battery is at a state...
Because you have the truck running or in On position.
You really don't have an Accessory position for push-button start, despite what the manual says.
Once you hit the button with no brake pedal push - the 12V system throws the relay to bring the HVB online.
The 12VB is now being charged.
For...
Not really too complicated.
BSM:
Kicks in if startup voltage is seen at 12.1 or less (system isn't fooled by higher voltage after a drive, because it knows that's not a valid reading).
May not even be noticed as lights turn off sooner and sooner as voltage drops - until so soon it effects you...
Charge the truck battery up the day before you leave.
Leave the charger on the Escape.
Turn off radio and HVAC before final turn-off.
25MY goes into battery saver mode for lights and such pretty quick, if not started after 5 days.
Will you be using the lights while gone?
Then who cares - as...
The following AI synopsis agrees with what I found for Toyota years ago too.
It's not correct though regarding difference to ambient (unless they mean inside cab), because recirc mode should be on for the test. Therefore it's not ambient, but the air intake under the dash.
Same as HVAC tests in...
Other difference with pre-25MY - if you adjust fan speed it kicks it out of Auto.
But to the manual image posted above - Auto has 3 selection ranges of fan speed.
Tested.
Temp was on Lo since I normally do outside air.
Face was selected and fan speed 1.
85 reported outside before moving, probably over 100 in cabin, forgot to lower rear covered windows for air flow.
Auto on 2.
Only used face vent on it's own, fan speed seemed like 6, makes sense with a...
Even my 24MY on Auto, which I'll use a few times for heat in winter - directs the hot air to defrost vents - none to face vents. And some feet.
But sometimes my fingers are cold from windshield clearing, and that's not a useful set of vents with no heated steering wheel - so punch the face vent...
Just FYI for differences - Non-auto setting will also have the AC come on in the background if humidity is high.
Auto has nothing to do with it.
pre-25MY you at least need the HVAC system on.
But AC button will not be lit when it's doing it if you don't have AC on.
25/26MY the system can be...
I'd be curious how the EPB causes accelerated wear on the rears?
Both EB and hybrid auto-release the EPB with no drag when the Go pedal is pressed enough.
Just like the auto-hold that applies line pressure to all four wheels, instantly is released when pedal pushed.
They should both be...
I recall different forum comments starting a couple decades back about this starting to happen.
There are videos explaining the why, some older and still valid.
Good advice on charge level.
Doesn't matter where you connect the charger though (reference is to hybrid obviously as EB the battery is under the hood, not charging points).
BMS system doesn't recording charging with key off, so it doesn't track external charging.
Which is good - otherwise it...
