Interestingly, I was just researching this exact topic last night. I came across this article that someone wrote on another Ford thread. Note that it's from last year, so it may not be completely accurate. Someone went ahead and did the math for the rewards and current rebate incentives...
For something like a hard top, or even a soft top, I could see it being cheaper (and probably easier) from the factory, especially as a bundle. Floor liners, though, and other accessories like wind shields and stuff, I'd assume will be easier to come by (and thus, more variable in price)...
Honestly, I have no clue. I figured they would be the same cost either way, but then I haven't seen other parts that cost more to order on their own, either.
Actually, I'm hoping that the red color will help tone down the intense blue of the interior and make it look more "grey."
The colors in the video are a little washed out, but it looks like Long McArthur had a hot pepper red XLT that they did a few videos with. Best look at the color combo that...
Wish we could get a video of the Hot Pepper Red against the XLT interior... I decided on Cactus Grey but that orange tint is very tempting. I wonder if it would bring out the orange accents on the interior of the XLT.
My plan is to get the Maverick-specific liners direct from my Ford dealer, but not as a part of my Mav order. With any luck, they'll have some in stock by the time my Mav comes in (I'm late to the party, should be placing my order this coming week), so there's no reason to put it on the official...
I would imagine that there would be some color change regardless of which you choose. But you're right, the change with adhesive tape would probably be more obvious than the floating style with mounting screws. As far as paint flaking off from the tape, I don't think there would be an issue as...
I see what you mean! I was equipping the all-weather floor liners WITHOUT carpeted mats (I have no desire for a carpeted set myself, so never tried it to begin with), but only the set WITH carpeted mats changes it in the interior view. So strange for Ford to do that.
I tried that before making this post and didn't notice any difference, even with the 360 view. Just went and did it again and I honestly still can't see a change... maybe you're seeing something that I can't? Maybe it shows it for some trim levels and not others (I've only tried it on the XLT)?
My current car (a 2017 Chevy Cruze) came with a dealer-equipped deflector, but it was an adhesive-backed model. I liked it, so I plan to install one on my Mav eventually too. I wasn't aware that any of them were installed with mounting points at all - mine and every other one I've seen uses tape...
I'd definitely like to order Ford's all-weather floor liners that are designed to go with the Maverick, but only if they come for the front AND back seats. Unfortunately, on the Build & Price tool for the Maverick, it doesn't say how many are included. Does anyone have pictures/documents/etc to...
Internals aside, the appearances are shockingly similar. Though I never had one myself, I wanted a Sport Trac for a long time and hoped they'd reinvent it somehow. The Maverick is more than close enough in my opinion.
I feel the same about the seats. My last vehicle had lumbar adjustments, but my current one doesn't, and I feel the difference (in a bad way) on long drives. I've added a lumbar pillow in my car to help when I visit family out of state, but it's really not the same. Looking forward to the return...
I'd argue that the Cactus Grey exterior color is definitely non-traditional, in my opinion. It's not quite grey, but rather greyish-green, and the color tends to change based on the light you view it in. It's a color that I've never seen on the road before, and I don't think I'll have any...
I remember seeing two people sitting side-by-side in the back seat in one of Ford's promotional videos. One of them was definitely a kid, so it might not be exactly what you were looking for, but it might provide some perspective.
In the article, it says this:
"Specifically, the warning notes that Android Auto is no longer supported on phone displays, now requiring a dedicated car screen to use."
Also this:
"Google Assistant driving mode is our next evolution of the mobile driving experience. For the people who use...
As someone who received a car from my parents, another side for you to consider that you might not have thought of initially is the residual value. If/when your son inherits the Maverick, that Lariat trim will translate to a surprising amount of extra $$$ down the line if he trades it in or...
On my end, the choice to pick up the XLT was pretty easy. My current car has a heated steering wheel, heated seats, and remote start. Those have already spoiled me for cold northern winters, and I'm looking forward to the heated wiper rest almost as much as the aforementioned features.
While...
