Yes. I charged it before even putting it in my truck. My AGM charger said "fully charged" as soon as I hooked it up, but I let it charge anyway until is went to 15v. The paperwork with the AGM battery said not to exceed 15v charging.
So, all seemed good this morning. Interior lights came one...
Hmm.... maybe the title of this thread should be "Hybrid 12v Battery Mystery Solved Still Under Investigation" ?
Just kidding, this has been a great thread with good discussion.
Saga continues. Installed a brand new AGM battery yesterday afternoon. Some interesting discoveries along the way:
Old Ford brand wet cell OEM battery was normally showing about 12.2 - 12.3 volts after resting, for past week and the truck kept going into battery save mode after sitting a few...
I just bought the truck. My Ford OEM battery seemed to drop voltage to the point of Battery save mode within a few hours of parking the truck every day. There is some evidence that someone had at one point jump started using the 12v battery's connection ( orange plastic positive cover was...
I've got it on the charger now, although I was super surprised to see it measure 12.85 right out of the box, and my smart charger said it was at 100% as soon as I attached the leads. I put it on a 2amp trickle charge any way, and let it come up to 14.7 volts.
I'll pull the old one and let the...
So here is my question : I have a cig lighter plug that displays the voltage at the cig lighter outlet. For my truck, when driving (the READY light shows on the dash) I have never seen less than 14.6v, day or night, lights on or off, long drive or short. Same results even after using my smart...
Obviously some disagreement here. I would be great if everyone providing factual statments about how this truck operates could Include a source so we can figure out which one is correct.
Probably. I don't know for sure, but someone MTC will certainly know. Least of my worries. For now I just want my dome lights to come on when I open the door in the dark.
Drove 100 miles early this morning. I saw 14.7v from the cig lighter all morning. Headlights on obviously.
After truck sat for a few hours, my cig lighter is showing 12.4v when I switch key to acc.
But the dome light don't come on when I open the door. Do the dome lights know it's daylight...
My normal driving habit is trips of about 8-12 miles miles each in daytime, sometimes only one per day. I might drive at night a few times per month.
What is the best strategy for my situation to avoid a dead battery? I don't use Forscan, and would rather not go that route.
ok, so when the Ford app say "Battery Save Mode" (BSM) it is due to the voltage at the 12V, or a combination of the voltages from both HVB and 12V?
My truck went into BSM yesterday when I was doing a bunch of stuff inside the cabin, and doors were open and closed started it about 6 times...
