I've joined a forum associated with each of the last 3 vehicles purchased for general or specific information about the vehicle, and for some on-line entertainment. This is the first time I joined a forum before driving my vehicle.
This is one of the better forums I've experienced.
Of course you are correct. It was just ironic to me because garage space had everything to do with my purchasing the Maverick. While there are other reasons for selecting the Maverick, I would have selected a mid-size pickup for the extra bed length if I had no garage.
Maybe the shortage listing does not apply to vehicles already scheduled for production. I don't think the window sticker is available until production begins.

I can't believe all these posts about parking the Maverick outdoors overnight. The only reason I bought the Maverick is because it is small enough (under 200 inches long) to fit in the garage.
I loved the comment about parking $50,000 worth of fine German engineering outside because of $500...
The scheduling report just posted elsewhere in the forum for weeks 1/1-2/26 says there is an exhausted availability of hybrid engines and A/S tires. Do you still have the same scheduled date? I'm scheduled the week of 1/29, but with the 2.0 Ecoboost engine to get AWD and A/T tires with the FX4...
Good point on the steering wheel layout. I currently drive an older truck and a newer SUV. One has a steering wheel shifter and key ignition while the other has a floor shifter and push button start. I'm constantly forgetting which vehicle I'm in. Sounds like exchanging the truck for a...
While doing a Maverick search for dealers in central Florida, I only encountered one dealer with a sizable inventory. All base white XL hybrids. Apparently they are concentrating on commercial fleet sales.
Ford marketing the Maverick to young people? I didn't know they were marketing it at all. I never heard of it until a dealer told me about it when I was looking at Broncos last month.
I have a 2004 Chevy Colorado that I brought new (cash because I am old) and want to replace it to be able to...
Thanks for the answers. I've got an order in with the FX4 package included, but I'm going to look around if I don't get notice by January of a production date. Nice to know that an AWD model without the FX4 package is an option for me. I would still miss the A/T tires and trailer receiver...
I agree that the FX4 package is worth the cost, but cost is not the issue. Rather, the issue is finding a built truck that has it. That's why I asked if AWD is adequate for my 4 wheel needs.
If my driving just occasionally needs traction in soft sand, but not off-roading in rough terrain, do I need a true 4-wheel drive off-road package or will the AWD in the Maverick be adequate?
