I'd give it a chance to burn off whatever is causing the smell and keep an eye on the cat in the meantime just in case. But with 450 miles, I'd lean toward this being a normal break in stench. That guy's glowing red cat was likely due to unburned fuel- your dealer should have seen a DTC when you...
How many miles do you have on it? I've read of some people complaining of a smell during break in, which is normal. Your dealer was probably trying to replicate the concern and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
I really don't have much to gripe about, my Maverick has been great. That being said, a few minor annoyances- the shift knob, I personally just can't stand the look of it or it's placement. The lack of fog lights as an option or factory accessory seems short sighted. Also, like all new Fords...
It should be, bring it to your local dealership and see what they say. Our service manager will go above and beyond trying to get something like this covered. If you get no for an answer, try another dealer and if still getting a no, ask for Ford's customer service number. Sometimes things like...
For me, Cactus Gray is an absolute hard no. It looks like primer, I don't understand these drab, flat colors on new cars. One of our salesman has a Ranger in Cactus Gray and IMO, it ruins what would otherwise be a good looking truck.
FWIW, I don't really care for any of the available colors...
I have played with it, nice to have but short of track days or high speed pursuits, normal mode is just fine, has plenty of power on demand to pass when needed. Maybe someone else has more to offer on it but if I were shopping for a Maverick this time I wouldn't hold out just for sport mode. YMMV.
These white led headlights need some help, especially in fog. I see some people adding fogs and light strips/bars, hoping for some suggestions as to which route i should take. I'm thinking of mounting an led bar under the front bumper cover but would be nice to see all the options as far as...
I broke mine in the same way I do motorcycles. I took it easy (mostly, aside from my test drive) for the first 900 miles then up to 1000, got on it a few times but nothing crazy then had my oil changed. A lot of people will tell you that early oil change is unnecessary but mine was pretty nasty...
I'll try for some daytime pics today but I'm working alone so maybe this weekend. I used the lugnuts, they look great and I'm happy with these wheels. I was tempted to go up to an 18 but this will for nicely for now.
The sales dept here is using mine to show customers. I told them if I can make...
I posted a pic of mine in the showcase. Has leveling kit as well though. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/showcase/got-my-level-kit-wheels-and-245s.79/
For anyone who decides to go with a K&N, remember to clean and oil it regularly. SOOOO many people install it and never maintain the filter, we've seen them in our shop falling apart from getting dried out and clogged up.
It's human nature to try and improve upon things. And many people want to take a mass produced vehicle and make it their own. If you're happy keeping it stock, sweet, enjoy it. But don't expect the same from everyone else.
As for that $30 install, (and only the install, I won't defend the back and forth BS- that should never happen) please point your frustration at Ford Motor Company, not the parts dept you are dealing with....UNLESS they are a participating dealer on that accessories website.
Dealership parts...
