Still depends on vehicle design-my EB Mustang will not do great at 50 because of gearing-RPM's are too low at 50 due to the 6 speed manual OD gearing.......all Mavericks you are absolutely right-they aren't quite as aerodynamic as some vehicles and do better at 50..YMMV
Whatever you do-don't test drive a Maverick until you are in a position to buy............you might be tempted to overpay..........they are really that good. Plenty of room for 4 , comfortable seats , a decent sized bed to haul most things and oh................let's not forget the amazing MPG...
Hybrids typically make a lot of different(strange) noises-clicks and hums while the battery cycles and cools. I have never noticed a high pitched noise (like a squeal)-but I'm kinda hard of hearing at times-just ask my wife:-)
Hybrid vehicles have become even more valuable now that so many electric car owners are having buyer's remorse. Current polling shows over 50% of current EV owners are ready to return to ICE vehicles. Probably why Hybrid Mavericks command more from Carvana.
Added to my stable of trusty Fords.........I'm just not a trade in kind of guy:-) My Taurus,Focus,Fusion,F350,F150,Mustang ,Windstar and F150 are still in rotation and show no signs of quitting. Wanted a Maverick since they first came out and after '20 Mustang was paid off-it was time to find one.
I quickly discovered that speed on the highway really affected mileage. My trip to Florida and back -I tried to keep it closer to 75 instead of 80 and I got 36-37 on the trip. YMMV..
Yes-they drove it from body shop across the street to alignment area. Tech said he used "arm strong" steering to get there but he wouldn't recommend it ....
Even more interesting are all the clicks and "Hybrid" noises it makes when parked with ignition off. That really worried me until everyone assured me it was normal......
My Maverick is still in body shop(after being hit while parked in front of my house on May 5), awaiting a final piece of the puzzle. After over $9K in repairs she is looking good -but while being aligned at dealer as the final step of reconstruction-there is no power steering. Techs have advised...
Good to hear you are ok-Maverick did it's job protecting you. Thank God Ford designed and built it tough. Good luck in your search for a new one-you are blessed!
Even stranger--young lady was a friend of my oldest granddaughter. Totally an accident as she was reaching into the back seat to keep a bucket from spilling-irresponsible ,yes-but accidental..............
I have now been without my Maverick for over a month since she was hit while parked in front of my house by a KIA. Still in the body shop awaiting reassembly and final suspension alignment-latest estimate is now this Thursday for completion.
The pain is real-seeing the occasional Maverick in...
