So, if you got a letter from Ford about the ***IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL*** about the side curtain airbags with VIN number you are in the group with me. My experience with Classic Ford in Galveston was easy and smooth. I called them, they ordered the parts, got them in and called me to schedule...
After 11,000 miles I got tired of the look of the Pirelli 225's and switched to the Falken Wildpeak AT3W in 235/65r17's. I lost from 1-2 mpg, the ride is a little more confident, seems to track better (to me), and the look is excellent. To me it is the tire size that Ford should have offered...
I received a JD Power reliability and service survey on 9-19-22 for the Maverick I've had since December 15 of 2021. Instead of throwing it away I opened it, saw the $1 bill and actually read what it said.
I went online and completed the survey. Not a bad experience and overall I felt it had a...
I-45 in Houston has plenty of rocks and debris due to road construction. One hit my Mav's windshield this month and caused a chip about dime-sized. It did not crack past that. Wish I took a pic but did not.
Checked YouTube reviews and used a Blue Star Windshield Repair Kit following all...
Drove 1860 miles from Galveston to Big Bend National Park and back on a road trip. Overall, averaged 25.4 mpg with the 2.0 EB AWD FX4 and 4K pkg. Speed ranged from 10 to 95mph with an average on the interstates of 80-85. The Maverick did a great job and I got to try different features like...
I kept looking at my Mav's tailgate and how the black trim wrapped around the truck - but didn't flow across the lower tailgate. So - I ordered 2 inch decal tape from EBay and did it myself.
To me, the look is better and Ford should just do this to all Mavs. It is a cleaner look.

No-Go -Two that do not work as advertised and I would not recommend are:
1. C4 GTechniq Permanent Trim Restorer - looks good for a few days or a week then starts coming off and my exterior trim looks aged and bad! I definitely don't recommend this for our Mavericks.
2. Gyeon Q2m Wet Coat...
Washed the salt and grime of 700 miles off yesterday at Buc-ees in Lake Jackson, TX. Yes - I used a car wash but Buc-ees are pretty good. I drove through the car wash with the Mav. When I switched it to N on the selector a note came up to push the L button in the center of the selector (p185...
My wife's 2019 Edge has the VAL engine and it has been great. I've studied up on the Cleveland 2.0 and the Valencia 2.0 and actually was glad that my Mav has the VAL engine.
What do you think?
Picked up my Mav on 12-15 with 14 miles. In 500 miles no issues, quick as all get out, 28mpg, one small paint blemish at 3mm (leaving it alone!). Totally happy with the Maverick so far and three people have stopped me to ask questions and look at it!
1. Maverick tailgate letters from Ebay at...
Thanks for the great info provided by those of you who've been tracking your Mav's from Hermosillo to different parts of the country. For those of us around Houston here is what I can share. My Maverick was shipped from Hermosillo on 11-27 and arrived at UP's Westfield yard (near Spring, TX)...
Had the keychain that is on my IslaDelDan image made from a piece of sterling silver by a jewelry maker in Mexico while on vacation. It is pretty close to one that used to be made by James Avery of Kerrville, Texas. Feel free to copy it or use it as its a one of a kind and no one owns the...
Any experience with the specific product Turtle wax hybrid solutions pro flex graphite in terms of can it be used on paint and plastic? I know sealants can be put on right when we get our Mavericks delivered and want to do that. I've read that Maguires hybrid liquid ceramic wax is a good...
I live on the water in Galveston so have used Boeshield, Fluid film, Club Car battery terminal spray, and others to prevent rust. I had my F150 Ziebarted, but they are no longer in Houston. I've narrowed it down to the Club Car spray and Corrosion X Aviation to protect parts of my Maverick...
