  1. "Ute" Do the Aussies have it right?

After I told my husband that people were insulting the Maverick by calling it a trucklette, its become a term of endearment in our house. We live in the land of huge trucks, so it really is tiny compared to all the huge trucks in our area (and that's the appeal of it to me). We've...
  2. North Texas Dealers with no markups?

A few months ago, Five Star Ford of Dallas called me to offer a refused customer order. I did not want it, but I posted about it and a forum member bought it. The member did not say anything about mark-up. BUT market conditions have changed even since then so they may be doing mark-ups even...
  3. Dealers are falsely cancelling 2022 Hybrid orders in the name of Ford!

I agree with the others, call Ford Customer service (the number is listed here and there in the forum). This happened to a couple of people before you and when the customer service line was called, not only was their order not cancelled, but Ford Corporate called the dealer with the customer...
  4. New Motortrend Review: 2022 Maverick Pros and Cons Review: A Small Truck With a Big Impact [w/ Acceleration Numbers]

I'm a little mystified by the comments about the exterior of the truck being boring, when that's exactly why I like it. It looks like a truck. It looks like a Ford truck. I wouldn't want something that didn't look like a regular truck, can't stand the Santa Cruz styling.
  5. Minimum amount to finance?

My credit union has a minimum of $5 or $10k, depending on the length of time on the finance. Haven't seen a minimum for Ford's rate though.
  6. Ford has forgotten who the customers are

As a different point than I have seen made here so far: We can all (mostly) agree that 1) Ford wants a Just In Time car sales system; 2)They are advertising their custom order system; 3) The dealer model is not likely to go away in the next 5 years; 4) It is way to late to change the allocation...
  7. Ford has forgotten who the customers are

YES! I'd much rather get an email that says, with your specs and dealer your estimated build month is [March, April, whatever] than completely not knowing. Obviously that email should come from Ford because the dealers that are telling customers their guesses (except Tim) are just throwing out...
  8. 📣 12/9 Scheduling Email Received Group [Emails Arriving!!!]

My August Hybrid is not scheduled, so who knows.... I was a priority 2 when I checked recently. I'm starting to get a pile of accessories and want to be able to use them.
  9. Don't Wait on Hold with Ford

For those that have been calling the 1-800 number to check on your Maverick's status, you don't have to wait on hold. Twice now, I have logged into my FordPass account (on my computer, I haven't tried it via the app) and clicked on the "chat " button...
  10. Maverick is only “small” compared to large trucks.

I agree. I had a mid '90s S10 and loved the size. I'm short and am looking forward to the usability of the bed for me.... if I ever get mine. Hybrid with no productions date yet (same as the majority here, I guess)
  11. Maverick is only “small” compared to large trucks.

I agree entirely. I have a Ford Flex, and no one would ever call it small. I was actually looking forward to going back to a smaller vehicle when I got my Maverick, only to realize it is basically the same length as the Flex. The Maverick is just small when compared to current trucks - and it...
  12. 📊 Maverick Order Tracking List & Stats [Enter Yours!]

I'm sorry, I can't seem to find the link to go look at the data submitted. Can you post a link? All I can find is the order info submission link and the order update link. I'd like to look at the actual data, since this includes unscheduled vehicles and the Reddit version only allows you to...
  13. News Article on Forced Dealer Financing

I know this has come up a few times and our local news is reporting on it. it's not just a problem in Texas, but seems to be legal, although scuzzy. WFAA - The association representing Texas credit unions sounds off
  14. 🚨 Hybrid Maverick 2.5L is OKTB!

Unfortunately, the answers to your questions are no and no. The OK to Buy just means that the Hybrids that have already been ordered are allowed to be sold to their owners. Model year 2023 hybrids are still predicted to be available for order in June. And only plug-in hybrids and EVs qualify...
  15. Too slow to order, Hybrid no longer available ...upsides to the 2.0?

My understanding is you can't flat tow the ecoboost. So if that's a deal-breaker, you'll want to wait for an available hybrid.
  16. Perspective - 2 orders with 2 different manufacturers

I know everyone's favorite pastime on this forum is complaining about Ford's ordering process and communication. I do not want to start yet ANOTHER thread where people argue about Ford's great conspiracy or lack thereof, but here's my perspective after ordering another car with another...
  17. Plastidip Orange Interior Bits?

I agree. The orange is less bright in person, and after seeing it, I am less worried about changing the color. The blue interior is more muted as well, and the whole color scheme is just less tacky in person than it looks in online pictures. I might end up changing it by ordering replacement...
  18. ⏱ Maverick Scheduling Upcoming Week (11/15) For 3 Production Build Weeks: 1/3/22 – 1/17/22 !

Given that the October built #s exceeded Ford's originally predicted December #s, the production ramp up seems to be going well. This is the first scheduling week I've actually had any hope at all of being scheduled. It'll probably be next month, but it could be this time... (ordered August 3)...
  19. If Ford pull this off my Mav will be short lived and the Lightning will be in my yard.

We have a similar experience with the i3. My husband had test driven a new i3, but we decided it wasn't worth the price they were charging. A couple of years later, husband wanted a Tesla, but it was over our budget. We ended up finding a 3 year old i3 (off a lease) for 35% of the price for...
  20. Rear Seat Storage Dimensions

There *might* be enough of a gap for you. I know for sure that my folding sports chairs are too big in diameter to fit. I couldn't get the right angle to see if the seat bottom actually rests on the storage bin or not.
