Truck staying in the last mode selected (eco, sport, whatever) would be a simple change they could make that would be an instant win for the end user. Default to whatever mode the driver last set it to.
Adding this in case it helps anyone searching in the future. I learned yesterday that the noise almost disappears when I change the hvac to recirc. Switch to fresh air, sound comes right back. Someone trying to trace a similar issue down the line may find this tidbit useful.
Thanks.
I noticed yesterday that the whistle 90% disappears in recirc mode. Fresh air mode, comes right back.

Probably not, in hindsight. If someone came up to me tomorrow with an offer that meant I wasnāt taking a bath, Iād probably take it. But itās paid for, and I canāt justify taking a huge hit by trading it and either having a car payment again or taking money out of savings to cover the...
Iām 56 and now that you mention it, Iāve never seen anyone younger than myself driving a Maverick or getting into or out of one in a parking lot.
The only other person who I personally know who owns one is 78 yo.
A guy in my neighborhood has one as well, again, Iād say heās prob late fifties...
Iāve never once been asked a single question about my Maverick or had anyone express the slightest interest in it. Maybe because they are all over local roads at this point. Alternately, maybe I look like a scary troll, and there are people who are curious but afraid to engage the troll...
Could have sworn I read somewhere here that they do indeed work together, and pretty sure back when I bought my RC tonneau, it was listed as working with the TS rails.
6 months later, seems the fit guide no longer lists the RC cover as being compatible, and searching around online says no, they...
Best can mean a lot of things.
I added it up the other day, and Iāve owned 74 cars/trucks in my life including the three current ones. Nope, this isnāt the best. I give the design an 8.5/10, execution 5/10.
Things I wish I had paid more attention to pre purchase:
The seats are the least comfortable Iāve had on a modern vehicle. I did some pondering on this and I think I figured out why. The bottom cushion is unusually narrow, to my surprise narrower than our tiny Prius. This puts the side bolsters...
I find the ride quality totally fine on the highway, but pretty brittle at low speeds in town. Especially expansion joints and the like, the small sharp impacts. I probably notice this more than I normally would because the dash rattles a lot when I hit shallow potholes or expansion joints...
Anecdotal data point for you, Our Prius is 8 years old now, 130k-ish, no sign of any battery problems yet. A coworker had one and the battery died around 250k miles. Similar setup as the Maverick.
My wind whistle has me in the same head space. Highly interested in whether you find a solution. Iām pretty frugal, but at the same time Iām reaching an age where I just want stuff to work properly and have less patience than I used to for stuff like this.
Iād add on ācurrently available for the money IF having a small pickup bed is a necessity.ā Sounds like Iām like you. I ended up with a Maverick despite it being significantly flawed due to lack of other options in the segment. If you want a small 40 mpg pickup, youāre buying a Maverick.
i will...
