And it's not just limited to automobile wiring. Here's an air conditioner that quit due to mice having a feast on the 480volt 3-phase power. when I repaired this, I didn't find any dead mice .... was a bit surprised.

Maybe just make it a daily habit to do a quick "swipe with a rag" over the lens before driving off! This way it should be clean for each initial drive.

Take a small sample of the oil and send it off to an Oil Analysis lab. It will tell you exactly what all is in the oil INCLUDING moisture content. I use Blackstone Laboratories Inc in the Fort Wayne area. Money well spent if you want your engine to last.

And to think, if you were over/up here in the Midwest with all the salt/brine on the roads, you're undercarriage would likely look even worse! Not real bad for the fun you've been having. Report back in a year and compare damages then.

Welcome from the SW end of Lake Erie! Curious how many miles were put on your old truck to where it rotted out so quick? Lots of salt/brine driving I take it. Look into the fluidic film treatment for your new Maverick so it will preserve the metal and not rot out so quick.
