I've owned a lot of vehicles since I started driving in 1989; from first to last they are:
-1977 Toyota Celica ST Coupe Automatic (used)
-1986 Nissan Sentra XE 5-Speed (used)
-1992 Mitsubishi Mighty Max Pickup 5-Speed (new)
-1993 Toyota Paseo 5-Speed (used)
-1997 Chevrolet Tahoe LS 2-Door 4WD...
I'm hoping I get bumped to a 2023 model and as compensation Ford offers a substantial rebate that will stack with the $3k under MSRP pricing. Since I placed my order on 1/25 getting bumped to a 2023 at least seems likely. The rebate? Here is hoping.
I put a deposit on an incoming RAV4 Hybrid the other day. It is supposed to already be in production and was 37 days from delivery on the day I put down the deposit. Out the door it will be about the same price as the most expensive Maverick I ordered, perhaps about $1000 more. It was marked...
I just put a deposit on an incoming Hybrid Toyota RAV4. It will be here mid-March, already in production. My situation changed a little bit and I need a vehicle by the end of April. That is not going to happen with the Maverick since none of the ones I ordered are scheduled (not that I...
Worst case is probably an order getting pushed to 2023 and Ford offering some sort of discount/incentive due to that. On top of the $3k off MSRP that could make some of these trucks a real bargain for people who can afford to wait.
That looks awesome, congratulations.
I'm hoping Ford doesn't force me to go another route. I need to have something by mid-summer at the latest. If I can't get one of my Maverick orders by then I'm going to go a completely different way and get a manual transmission car (if I can find one).
Isn't the Maverick Hybrid the cheapest Hybrid vehicle on the US Market? It offers a lot of utility and excellent economy for the low price of entry. I'm sure it is helping CAFE standards whether it is making money or not for Ford. There is something to be said from a marketing standpoint for...
I'm not a "senior citizen" but I'm not exactly a spring chicken either. I'll be 50 next year and I'm totally open to this whole online model. There are plenty of older folks on this forum who are clearly computer savvy. I'm sure there are people of all ages who would prefer not to shop...
I ordered the first of my three Mavericks from a small town dealer local to my office (I work in a different county from where I live). That dealer is the only new car dealer in the entire county and they definitely qualify as small. I would very much like to give them by business. Hopefully...
I agree. I also think that Ford needs to remove dealers from the special order process entirely. Their only involvement should be taking the vehicle in and prepping it for delivery to the customer once it is built. The rest of the process should be able to be completed online; Ford can...
If one could get the AWD EcoBoost XL with a manual transmission I would have had to get one. However, since one cannot I went XLT so I could get cruise without the "do it yourself" (which I would have to pay someone else to do) and some of the other upgraded XLT features.
If I was buying the...
I have no plans to complain or spout conspiracy theories. I'm hopeful that my order will be built, it is quite simple (XLT AWD w/ CP360) and perhaps that will bump it closer to the top in Ford scheduling. If it doesn't get built perhaps one of my others will (I put in 3 total at 3 different...
I've only owned two Fords, I'm mostly an import guy. I tried a couple of times in the 90s to buy a Probe GT but I always ended up with something else.
I had a 2015 Fiesta base model (with a manual) that I drove for four years (I got it in 2014 and traded it in 2018). I never had any problems...
What they need to do is cut dealerships out of custom orders entirely. You want to buy off the lot, that is fine, they can have a series of stock configurations that are available. That is good for people that "need something now" for whatever reason (tree fell on their car, engine blew up...
The problem with offering hundreds of different configurations/trim levels/colors/options is that it is almost impossible to find exactly what one is looking for in dealer stock (in normal times, not now, one can't find anything now).
All those options are fine for custom orders, and are...
