100% agree. I went with 235 and CC2. What a difference in look and feel. Only 3lbs heavier and less than 1 mph difference at highway speed. Well worth the expense. Gives a more ābeefyā look to the Mav. I havenāt seen any significant mpg degradation.
Great investigation on the unsolved 12v battery issue. I tried the parking lamp option for a more aggressive charge on my AGM. I constantly monitor the amp inflow to the 12v to determine the recharge level. Unfortunately, turning on the parking and/or headlamps made no difference in the...
Even on a 9% grade, my Mav will only tach to 3500 - 3800 rpms once the hybrid battery is full from regenerative coasting. Must be some real steep grades to get the tach to 4500 after regen coasting. As mentioned, the downhill rev is by design once the hybrid battery is fully charged. My...
Downloaded and included with the app along with what seems like hundreds of other PIDs. There are whole categories of extended, Ford specific PIDs that were offered for download if you wanted them. Of course, I took advantage of all the available downloads. The biggest issue is deciding...
Decided to go with a 25w, aluminum framed, solar panel so I can use it inside the cabin. The aluminum framed solar panel wonāt deform in the cabin heat, on the dashboard, during hotter days; withstands 200F temps and -40F cold. I have to plug it into a Battery Tender adapter for the OBDll...
Thatās always a good option but, I wanted to avoid playing around under the back seat for this and take an easier route by simply plugging into the OBDll port when Mav is parked in the driveway or parking lot. I just donāt know if plugging a solar panel charger into the OBDll port would...
The 12v outlet in the truck bed is a timed off outlet after shutdown. OBDll is always on which would work much better to plug in the solar panel charger for longer term use. What I donāt know is if the OBDll plug bypasses the BMS if I plug the solar panel into it to charge the battery.
Quick question ā¦. Iām looking at a 25w solar panel charger for my 12v AGM in my 2023 Hybrid Mav. Iām tired of leaving the hood open to charge the 12v with my Noco G5 and wanted a more mobile option when Iām not near a plug or I donāt have the Mav in the garage. I donāt want a permanent set...
The Mavs typically came with the AGM already set in the 12v battery programming regardless of whether the 12v was a flooded or AGM battery. This suggests that an AGM should have been installed all along as an OEM beginning with the ā22 model year.
2023 Hybrid Lariat here. I started getting the deep sleep messages about 14 months after my AGM self install. The AGM will significantly lower your non-start risk but, the sleep messages will eventually return. The good news is the AGM has a deep discharge capability. My Mav has started...
Spot on ā¦.. not an AGM. Itās the upgraded flooded battery that they use to replace the POS original. Iād reconcile the service ticket to the battery install with the dealership but, most dealerships wonāt give you an AGM replacement since Ford wonāt reimburse them under warranty because an...
I make sure I tell the dealership to use full synthetic since the work order always says blend. It drives me nuts!!! I reconfirm at pick-up via the oil part number (which is always listed) on the service work order which matches up to the full synthetic product by Ford.
Perfect fit for my 2023 Hybrid Lariat. Every Mav needs this. I was surprised to see the amount of debris in the front fender joints from the unprotected drainage points under the windshield when I went to install the drainage screens. A simple but very effective solution!!
Pull fuse 11. Plus SSM 53801 wonāt solve the 12v issue. Continued parasitic draws and and a crappy charging algorithm will plague your Mav with no real resolution in sight. Get an AGM in there to at least minimize the risk of a non-start. Youāll still lose dome/courtesy lights...
Iāve gotten that SOC on the Delco AGM. Itās very difficult to get to 70% and I can only get there during the summer. Colder weather is completely different. Iāve been as low as 35% in the winter. Never a starting issue but I obviously lose dome lights.
If you have access to the charging amp PID for the 12v battery, youāll see the poor charging rate for the battery as you drive. It quickly falls of to 0-2 amps once you get to 60+ SOC. Iāve never been able to get the SOC beyond 74% by driving and even then it took a 4+ hour drive to get it...
