Just an FYI, if you try to use the inside door lock to lock your truck with the key still in it, the 2 beeps you hear is to prevent locking your keys inside with or without a keypad.
With the key inside, close the door and hold 7/8 and 9/0 at the same time. Doors will lock and lights will blink 2 times. Good to go. To unlock, put in your code and press 1/2 to unlock driverside door. Pressing 1/2 and 3/4 at the same time will unlock all doors. Hope that helps.
My 2020 Escape did the exact same thing. Had drivers side replaced under warranty, and just got a notice from Ford the others can be replaced for free. Maybe our Mavs are next?

The keypad master code is located on the fuse panel box under the glove box. Your manual can help with putting in the codes you prefer to use. Good luck with your Mav!
