I ordered a Ford Fiesta a few years back and they dropped it while unloading it. Ford pulled it back, I'm not sure if it was repaired or if a new one was sent but I received my car 3-4 weeks later.
I went through Courtesy Ford. Order placed via internet, no markup, hybrid lux with a build date of Jan 10th. No complaints.
My only regret is that I didn't put the order in sooner. (Waited till mid July)
I was looking at used Honda elements, Subaru Outbacks and AWD VW wagons and not excited about any of them.

3) fits a baby seat better than my fiesta
4) can put a muddy dog in the bed

I wouldn't be surprised if Ford is tilting towards the high price point/high margin builds when possible through the end of the year to pump the quarterly earnings as much as possible. Would explain why we're seeing so many lariat luxes and 2.0/fx4/4k package combos.
