  1. Allow me to show my towing ignorance

Possibly, but you might have to get the tongue real low to get enough weight on it. It should have been built to have 80-90% of weight on the wheels, so if it's level you might need 500lb bathroom scales under the wheels which ain't very common. With careful measuring, you can use the principle...
  2. Allow me to show my towing ignorance

IF the hubs are offcentre from axle with no leaf springs it may be rubber torsion or torsion beam. But yeah, solid axle, no suspension tend to be dangerous at speed. They may have been built for 25mph farm trailers.
  3. New software update for 2025 Mavs?

Yeah really, I've had Copilot regurgitate something back at me I typed on a forum not even 12 hours earlier.
  4. Allow me to show my towing ignorance

If you can round up 4 bathroom scales and four jackstands you can weigh it on those unless it's a real chonker. Add the numbers up of course, if one goes too high crank that corner higher to transfer more to rest.
  5. Off idle stumble when accelerating from a stop

See if a KOEO and KOER test reveals sticky IAC, cylinder imbalance or something. Then read plugs, check for vac leaks, flaky check valves, coil flashover etc. Consider if a recent overnight temperature drop could have dumped water out of ethanol fuel. If all your intake, fuel and spark systems...

First year Countach, plain jane 944 ... surprising what cars which were once GT going on supercar class it matches or edges on those number. ETA: strike the Countach, must have been a modern number I saw with a collector babying it, or someone who has run it hard since they bought it and it's...
  7. Highest price for a lariat maverick EVER

True that, anything that I've been in that's mushier handled like a boat, anything that I've been in that handled tighter was like a frightened horse and shook your teeth out on even mildly rough pavement.
  8. Highest price for a lariat maverick EVER

I have seen some deeper dealer discounts on rangers though, getting on for 7k and with 0% financing and/or wayyy better lease deals than Mavericks. So if you wanna pay the same price for that tad extra capacity that's useful 0.5% of the time, the -40% gas mileage that would have been useful 100%...
  9. Is there a list of socket/wrench sizes around for the Mavericks?

Some random due on teh intertubes said... "" 7, 8,10,13,15 Those will remove practically everything on the truck except major components "" (migs_003 on Reddit) So that plus plugs and lugs and whatever fits the tie-rod end, since if you hit something hard enough and bend one, you might...
  10. Think your Maverick bed is small?

Nobody made a Maverick ass-end trailer yet? ... Last one I saw for salvage that was totally trashed in the front they still wanted ~$5k for so doesn't seem a particularly cheap proposition yet.
  11. Think your Maverick bed is small?

There was a slide in camper for a Saab 99 and a Prius in Europe so it's more likely than you think. ETA: https://www.jalopnik.com/the-toppola-saab-camper-was-a-brilliant-idea-that-would-1846416671/
  12. Is this covered under warranty?

Seriously though if you did buy an interior protection package take a look at what you bought, some are just overcharging for a ScotchGard spray, some are actual insurance against interior damages where the spray is included so they don't have to pay out for petty spills and smears. It's...
  13. Lug Nuts-- again!

Nice! (BTW on previous query, Chevy lugnuts have compatible cone angle generaly 60 degree taper, but might entail carrying different lug wrench because they are 22mm/7/8 drive not 21mm/13/16 drive )
  14. Lug Nuts-- again!

Will the chebby M14x1.5 nuts work, or is the angle wrong? Keep seeing those cheap for some reason. Solid metal, uncapped.
  15. Is this covered under warranty?

If you somehow end up having to do it all on your own dime, then this thread is collecting some useful headrest info https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/lincoln-corsair-headrest-upgrade.72938/ So for instance, bottom dollar on the rear headrests might be to replace them with C-max...
  16. 2024 Maverick XLT 4400miles badly pitted windshield

Factory orange peel from when they sprayed the windshield on
  17. Is this covered under warranty?

Actually, if they scammed you into the interior protection thing, try to claim on that. Whatever they sprayed on clearly wasn't protective enough  I have seen worse done to a truck interior..... but it was a bear that got in.
  18. Highest price for a lariat maverick EVER

That would be a great Lariat accessory, like a trunk monkey, any time there's dirty work to do, use the XL
