Thank you for the marked up picture. (y) In addition to be lighter, I like the idea that jumper boxes are much more compact and easier to store compared to cables. The cables add a ton of weight to our auto kits.
I have managed to drain the battery on my Civic and it needs to be boosted. I hesitate to use the Mav Hybrid as I do not want to risk damaging the electronics. The owners manual doesn't explicit say NOT to use the Mav Hybrid as the booster vehicle but Ford does have a separate entry for jump...
It is weird. I have received more compliments about my Maverick's color being Eruption Green. I saw an older Bronco that was Mallard Green and supposedly the inspiration for the Eruption Green.
It's not the elevation that's the challenge but the grades: 6% on the Grapevine I-5 and Cajon Pass. The Mav went up the Grapevine very smartly and held its speed on the return going down.
Fortunately for us, we did not have a long drive, and I was more than happy to walk away (but I really wanted the Maverick).
Be sure to keep any correspondence (texts, emails) that you have had with the dealerships and their minions. When we went to receive delivery of our 2025 Maverick XLT...
I wouldn't mind a proximity alert that said: Attention. You have a moron on your tail. I mean, I have one when someone has cut in too close in front of me. But it is something like: Pre-collision alert.
I am glad you are all right even if the Mav took the hit for the team.
I cannot even remember all the times I have had a driver beside me who starts to drift into my lane (most typically leaving a stop light). I usually see that they are looking to the side (away from me) and down letting me...
Thank you. The Maverick is our first hybrid and we bought the ESP, and from what I'm seeing a number of posters have found it to be helpful rather than a waste of money.
I am short and do not have long arms. I use a combination of milk crates (to hold anything I may deem squishable) and a dedicated fireplace poker so I can hook whatever I am after and pull it towards me. If I use a bed organizer of some species, I want something that doesn't require me to jump...
Personally, I had a Honda that liked to light up the TPMS on occasion when the tire was three pounds off. It was remembering how to turn off the stupid light that was the most annoying.
Where I drive in snow/icy conditions, it is typically the CHP that dictates whether you need chains/cables. Mostly because they get tired of pulling vehicles out of ditches from those drivers who insist that their vehicle can "make it" up the or down the hill. Just make sure that your...
The electronic doohickies are definitely an impediment to my husband's enjoyment of driving the Mav (it's a 2025 XLT) or any vehicle with a touch screen menu. To name one, I warned him the co-pilot 360 will alert him if it determines a risk of collision, forwards or changing lanes. That and...
I have Apple Carplay. Yesterday, my husband sent me a text requesting Pepsi, sil vous plait. The text was read back to me complete with a French accent (Pipsee). Fortunately, I was parked when I received the message and didn't drive myself off the road while laughing.
My original reason for...
