Awesome to see aftermarket vendors jumping in early. For the 5' bed it has on road dynamic weight of 500 and 1000 weight limit standing will hold a roof top tent. Now if it could have a adjustable height version so you can have your roof top tent equal to roof line for better mpg.
Yep. My XL Maverick will be used for light farm work on my land. All of our old Datsun/Ford/GMC pickups had one when used on Midwest farms and it is invaluable. Between moving logs, stumps, dead animals (Maybe some hunting involved), moving fishing rafts in and out of river on the high banks...
The best advice I can give is change your own oil and filters. Saves money and you know it will be done right. When you see a Ford owner ask how their service is at their dealership Current engines are pretty trouble free
The best service place is the great mechanic who didn't like how the...
On the way out of my Costco today they had a new BMW car on display reminding members of the Costco Discount Auto program. Anybody try to order a Maverick through Costco program yet?
From experience in towing for years. You will never wish for a smaller engine especially in the Mountains or less payload/tow rating. It really will depend on weight of rv trailer and wind resistance. I wouldn't tow much more than a teardrop or pop up trailer with the Maverick. IE: 3500...
Me too. If I can get a base Frontier 4wd extended cab with locking diff for $5000 to 8,000 more than the Maverick I am eyeing, it will be a tough choice
I think Nissan releases Frontier pricing on 8/12
I think the opposite in a weird way. The F150 is so freaking huge the Maverick looks good next to it and the right size but when I see the Maverick next to a Ranger I think it may be to small. No matter which truck it is next to I wish it had a little more ground clearance.
It will be...
If the look doesnt bother you take a look at a soft top. They are extremely easy to remove. I had one on a truck a couple of years ago and ended up not removing it since it would fold flat if i needed payload height. Less money and less weight
Group,
Here is a reply from softopper an my inquiry. Sounds like they are ready to make a top for Maverick. They just need a Maverick for a couple of weeks to start the process. If anybody in Boulder area gets a Maverick, you may be able to negotiate a softopper for your Maverick in exchange...
It will be lower. Ask for the dealer price since you just came from them when you get to the liner place Be ready for a surprise. Then tell the owner they are quoting the dealership to low
I follow the simpler the better and diy method. If you will take of the front wheel off, you can purchase a man made wood 2x4 cut it to fit bed where the inserts are located. Purchase Yakima or off brand front skewers and screw them into the wood. No rot and the bikes will not go anywhere.
Was the $550 quote through your dealer? Dealers are so nice and put your needs first that they add an upcharge. Call your local line x dealer directly it will be less. Also, let them know the dimensions of the bed.
