  1. 2026 - lane KEEPING vs lane CENTERING

My XL has Co-Pilot (required add on with 25 Hybrid AWD 4K) and I like the LKA which I find unobtrusive. On a deserted section of highway, I let the LKA gently bounce me back into the lane, and while ready to provide steering input, after it went over to the left and corrected for that, I got a...
  2. Does anyone know what this is?

My guess: One of several unused brackets intended for mounting items not applicable to your MY hybrid. My vehicle has the same unused bracket. I suspect someone with a 25 EB has something attached to it... In any case, not to worry, stuff like this happens a lot.
  3. Hybrid MPG gauge too high by 5.6%

There are a lot of variables of varying significance. The basic problem on this topic turn is that gas stations sell fuel by volume, not weight. They sell a product but don't control the content. The weight of a gallon of regular gasoline changes slightly with variables but the expected...
  4. SeatDeletes- Hoping to introduce the real me and clear up some of whats been said on here about us

Feedback... Never heard and good or bad. It would seem to be simpler and more effective to have the entire back panel hinged/removable and perhaps use the rear of that space for some storage like you can get behind the stock rear seat back.. As it is, all of the storage seems like it's gone...
  5. Hybrid MPG gauge too high by 5.6%

My next door neighbor traveled all over the US doing just that and even back in the day, those tests weren't cheap.
  6. Hybrid MPG gauge too high by 5.6%

Apparently no temperature compensation is built into the fuel pump delivery system, so that warmer fuel in a storage tank means you actually get less fuel than if you got cold gas. With underground tanks there is very little variation in temperature. An above ground tank on a hot day you could...
  7. HYBRID ONLY Fuel line issue

I agree. Unless / until there is more information and a root cause, or at least an assessment is made, it's all conjecture. It appears to have happened at least twice, so I wonder what the result was in the former case...
  8. HYBRID ONLY Fuel line issue

That's an unknown as to why, but as Dr. McCoy said in the first Star Trek movie, "You know engineers, they love to change things".. If it were a normal heat issue that caused it, there would be lots of people with burned up cars. Apparently that's not the case, so your finding isn't a...
  9. HYBRID ONLY Fuel line issue

Mine is the same as the other MY25's not a big surprise. What makes me wonder about the original report is that there is clearly damage to the fuel line cover that made a hole and could have damaged the line below that causing the leak. Any component under pressure that is damaged can leak...
  10. Ford Issues Do-Not-Drive Advisory for Certain 2021-2026 Maverick; Owners Urged to Contact Dealerships Immediately (June 1, 2026)

Should there be ANY gap at all, as that boot looks like it is intended to be a weather seal....
  11. Hybrid MPG gauge too high by 5.6%

I missed the decimal vs comma. My bad. I wasn't expecting 3 digits with a zero value. A pump that displays values to 1/1000 of a gallon doesn't mean it's accurate, and no pumps used to dispense gasoline are anywhere close to that level of accuracy. I attempted to note potential factors...
  12. Hybrid MPG gauge too high by 5.6%

Sure, sounds like an easy experiment... NOT. Testing a thousand gallons doesn't increase test accuracy. Temperature and pressure affect the fuel volume measured to a greater and lesser degree, and the measurement of a delivered gallon may also vary slightly especially if the pump or...
  13. Hybrid MPG gauge too high by 5.6%

Okay, I'll tell you  - They could be extremely accurate on mpg’s, and with a tweak they can be, if they are not already. OTOH It may not be in their best interest to display a lower though accurate number as many (most?) just take the infotainment gauges at face value. A better mpg...
  14. Is Maverick 200k miles reliable?

And yet here you are, posting that everything is "peachy"...
  15. Hybrid MPG gauge too high by 5.6%

One measured gallon of fuel will vary in weight by temperature just like any liquid which expands with heat and shrinks when cold and fuel also varies by the addition and quantity of additives which can contribute to an increase or reduction in weight depending on formulation. Ethanol is about...
  16. Is Maverick 200k miles reliable?

Problems? What problems. Other than a couple of software updates there haven't been any. I've got a '25 hybrid, and everything is peachy.
  17. Full pallet of solar panels 1,056 lbs

True, weight forward would help, but your 160 pound donkey is a little light on the weight scale, as they are usually over 400 pounds.. Why would you let the donkey drive the truck in the first place, unless it had a learner's permit...
  18. Ford: Here's How Long We Torture Test Our Trucks Before We Hand You the Keys

Thanks for the reminder... I resent a link to the video to the local dealer's service department. Hopefully I'll hear something back this time.
