Sure, push this or push the government to require this then see how the manufacturers resist doing any recalls. The Jeep I had would pop up a message and tell me they were doing a software update over the connection, but I don’t like that, think it is open to hackers.
I like the true mini trucks that were introduced. The Courier morphed into the early Ranger. Had a lot of pickups in my life, my 84 4x4 long wheelbase Ranger was my favorite.
To me seeing recalls says the company is recognizing design and build problems. That doesn’t scare me off. I also never buy the first year of any vehicles, even firsts of a new generation. Sometimes the second generation is better, sometimes it creates more recalls.
I’m with you. Don’t need a large 4 x 4 truck anymore. Retired boomers that still do the small stuff is a big market. Live in a 55 community, see Mavericks and a few less Santa Cruz’s here.
I always have problems with setting off the alarms as I always have the key in my pocket. On my gladiator I got a silicone fob cover and it was enough. For the Maverick I bought a leather cover and still have trouble. Personally I hate alarms on the fob.
