  1. Right front collision damage

Only the second time my 18yo daughter drove my truck and she steered it into a parked car while turning in. So wheel at open angle toward curb. I was out of the area and just got back today to look. I am assuming catastrophic failure of the front right cv joint and possibly axel. It was towed to...
  2. Removing ink stains

Have a work tote bag that apparently had a pen sticking out of it, and it drew little patterned pen ink hieroglyphics on my passengers side seat (Lariat with the brown/tan center faux leather). Any suggestions on removing these scribbles without damaging the material?
  3. One tank of gas: 850+ miles on Hybrid Maverick!

2 days a week, usually, I have to drop off and pick up my daughter at school. It's just over 9 miles round trip and always takes over an hour (the queue/traffic is awful). So that's about 8mph average for 4.5 hours driving. I'd have to average more than 65mph for 1.5 hours driving just to bring...
  4. One tank of gas: 850+ miles on Hybrid Maverick!

The clock runs all the time whe key is on, so when you are stopped at a light (or anywhere) it counts as time with zero distance. Averaging 23mph is not as slow as you think it is
  5. Unbelievable fuel mileage I’m really happy I got the hybrid model.

A lot may depend on the roads you drive. I'm mostly 40-55 rolling roads in 'rural' NW Chicagoland, which I think is ideal for pulse/glide. Accelate up hill to maintain/increase speed to say 5mph over, and let off at crest and ease to maintain. I drive in slippery. I also have a HUD which is all...
  6. Unbelievable fuel mileage I’m really happy I got the hybrid model.

Over 60% of my miles are electric on over 7500 miles. I've never gotten much over 50mpg (calculated) and 700 miles on a tank because of my heavy foot from stop, but I pulse/glide like a champ, probably. All that said, I doubt much more that 10% of my miles are 'freeway' driving (70+mph). It's...
  7. Is extended warranty warranted?

Yeah. I missed that, unfortunately. And I must have priced it when there was a sale on, I guess. Just has kind of reached a tipping point there at thisnew, higher price.
  8. Is extended warranty warranted?

Granger Extended Warranty is up more than $400 over a couple months ago (on the plan I was looking at). Might be closer to $500 more, not sure but nearly 20-25% higher :/
  9. Fuel economy differences between driving styles

50+ MPG (according to dash) through 6700 total miles, not from creeping away after stopped (I gave a heavy foot from stopped), but from pulse/glide in slippery mode. Most of my travel is small rural roads with 45-55 speed limits, or around town. Slippery mode is a treat to drive in. Feels like...
  10. Maverick Hybrid - Can someone explain the the gauge on the far left please?

I accelate pretty hard. I can't nurse away from stops for my own self, nevermind others behind me. I brake gentley though, and pulse/glide always. Typical trips are 99% speed, 98% breaking, 80% acceleration. I run about 60% overall on electric and have averaged 50mpg (not calculated) through my...
  11. Car Wash Issue

Touchless only, or hand wash. But the nearest touchless is 20 minutes away. Anything close has those floppy brushes or whatever and I refuse.
  12. 10 Secrets of the Maverick

Does anyone actually use 91 in hybrid? I have only ever used 87
  13. Dealership Inventory

1 XL (at least I think so = steelies) The hybrid a Lariat. Otherwise about 50/50 XLT and Lariat
  14. Dealership Inventory

Sitting at same dealership this morning, Wickstrom in Barrington IL. They have 20 Mavericks on the lot. Obviously that supply/demand thing has changed. Interestingly, only 1 is hybrid.
  15. $48 Tent For Maverick ?

I bought this tent and an air mattress. About $70 for both all in. Will be heading out this weekend. Pretty excited and really happy with how simple setup is. It does literally take 2 or 3 minutes, and can be twisted down to fit under tonneau in less time.
  16. HUD via OBD no longer working after recall

Took a quick video. 25 MPH speed limit small road. RPM shows as dashed bars below Mph. 1 bar = no ICE 4 bars = idle More bars and becoming blue = increased RPM I use this exclusively to maximize gas mileage. About 40 seconds into video it cycles as off, because no ICE for 30 seconds. First...
  17. HUD via OBD no longer working after recall

This is not correct. Mine works perfect, minus the cycle through shutdown screens. My whole point of getting the OBD HUD was monitoring RPM (ICE running vs not running), which is something a non OBD one cannot do. When I have a chance I will post a quick video, including showing the cycling...
  18. HUD via OBD no longer working after recall

I will find link to it. Just bought cheap one on Amazon. It will NOT display any directions, but I was not looking for this. There may be one's that work. I love the HUD for speed. You get very accustomed to it very quickly (and are a bit lost with out it then lol). But l got it mostly for rpm -...
  19. HUD via OBD no longer working after recall

Just had mobile tech do the BCM recall on my 24 Lariat. Very nice way to get this service. However, my HUD is no longer active (from OBD port). Is there something I can do to make this active again? I haven't tried hooking up laptop to check Forscan. Hopefully they can't disable my access to OBD...
