Unless I'm mistaken, it appears those areas of the suspension might require a 'flat' that a casting just can't provide and machining was necessary. I don't think a guy at the factory with an angle grinder was grinding on the part to make it fit, if that is what you are wondering about.

Your mods look great and are understated. . . I put the black chrome letters from Ford on Tanglefoot. They appear black but have a mirror-like finish so they change appearance depending the angle of view.

It was a tight fit, but I didn't feel the fitting moved all that much. If yours is a bit tighter, maybe put that corner on first so you can angle the cover under the hose before snapping it down.

Try WD-40, but first test it on a spot under the hood (or someplace else) to make sure it does not hurt the paint. Just curious, was it a walnut tree?

I ordered a Lariat and was unaware at the time that this bulb would only do switchback with non-DRL trims (XL and XLT) So if someone wants them, we can work a very reasonable price as I will not use them. Sorry if this is not the correct forum to sell stuff. . . Thanks

I believe the parts guy found it by ordering the cover for the last year that the cover was offered on a Ford hybrid Escape (at least that is what I remember) and we got lucky, no 'Escape' embossed on the cover. The part number shows 'obsolete' on Ford Parts but maybe your dealer could find it...
