When the problems of 'self driving' vehicles have been made so apparent in big cities (that have actually adjusted their infrastructure to accommodate them), I can't see them working in rural areas where roads are marked to be OK for reasoning drivers but not OK for a combination of CPU/OS/and...
Tanglefoot . . . partly because of the issues with getting it built and partly because the F150 it replaced was named Whiskey, after a beloved horse that was stationed at Fort Snelling.
Tanglefoot is slang for whiskey.
Since they would not accept your offer of 'good faith' money, I'd say the truck you were interested in was not there and it was definitely a bait and switch operation.
Thankfully, I'm happy with our dealer.
If Ford says that even an automatic tranny in park should have the parking brake set and since the parking brake is electronically operated, maybe Ford could make an option in the software to set it for you when the vehicle is in park and you open the drivers door, then automatically release it...
I gotta go with others here about a rear defroster (without a dog) not being needed. I live in Iowa and I've been impressed how clear the rear window stays.
I had a 1953 Dodge M37 and the operators guide said 'when traversing streams, if the water comes over the top of the doors . . . backup'. It was rusty and trusty, but a lot of fun and got me where ever I wanted to go.
I find that the ICE comes on to warm up the cabin. Try leaving the cabin temp higher when you shutoff the truck and see if that helps. The truck should remember the temp controls at the next start.

It's a pickup truck so it will be hauling stuff around on road trips . . . maybe pretty short road trips with a battery that size.
If it will be about the size/weight of the Maverick (and that's a big if) and the Maverick's 1.2 kwh can only do about 2 miles on pure electric (and that is nursing...
My '74 Lincoln Mark had wipers that would park slightly raised off the glass. This kept the blade from deforming.
Some good ideas just don't get passed on from one generation of engineer/designer to the next.
How much does that place add to the cost of the vehicles?
I remember a salesman for a vendor that my employer used who bought a new Lincoln about every 12-15 months. While I liked the guy, my thought was always, "we are overpaying this company".
