Many on this forum (including me) do not like that the tailgate is not level with the bed and have shown the error (with pcitrues). It is real. What Ford does about it may be nothing.
As you know, Motorcycles want to roll on any non-level surface because they have round tires and will roll...
Thanks.
No chock up front. I did put a small piece of plywood between the front tire and the front of the bed. Some chocks I have had take up a lot of room when you have to put a bike in at an angle. Early on I used to have the kickstand down but now I let the tie downs hold the bike upright...
My XLT came with a short maybe 18 inch two wire with a plug at one end in a clear bag in the glove box. You should look around your truck and see if you see such a thing. The end with the plug is supposed to plug into the bed's 12 Volt plug held by the square cap.
If you do a search on Amazon for "Tailgate Support Bar". Many are advertised and list reasons for their usage. Mine only cost me 4.00 and some time not 99.00.
I don't know of any replacement cables available for the Maverick and if I were going to replace them, I would at least get a pair...
I can live with either name. I had a 4th and 6th gen Ranchero. My 68 was pretty nice when I got it for 1700.00 and drove it a few years. The 73 was just ok at 2500.00. Neither had AC which is kind of a must when it's 105 out side. Gas mileage was not very good but gas was way cheaper back...
Maybe your dealer is just lazy.
I ordered on 9/8 and on 9/17 salesman Tommy locked in my 1.9% rate before it was scheduled to expire on 10/4. After it was locked in, I got a build date and Vin number all on 9/17 He said if a better rate was available, I could get it. Got my truck 12/16
The tongue weight if using hitch carry on a Hybrid Maverick would not handle the Hawk's 400 pounds. I have a friend with a truck that he often carries bikes around 500 pounds in weight on his hitch carrier.
That Blue Hawk is pretty special and was recently a Hawk of the Month on the Hawk...
I am fine with you using 2. You are doing what works for you. I have had this conversation a few times over my 58 years of motorcycle riding. I'm sure you have many years in too.
I choose to lock it down pretty good with how ever many straps I'm comfortable with. Never less than 4. I hit...
Thanks.
I have thought about the load on the Sheetmetal itself. Our cheap truck's skin seems strong but thin. The tailgate is rated at 400 pounds, I think. It's got quite a bit of indents forming ridges that ad strength also.
Lucky my bikes are light. 400 pounds for one and 500 for the...
a couple days after getting, I washed, clay bar, waxed. That was Dec 18th. Did put on generic mud flaps front and back. Only got 1100 miles on it. Stays in garage at night. Still looks pretty clean so I will wash it when it doesn't.
If all you mini need is brakes and alignment to last longer and maybe till you get your truck, then do that. Keep receipts and you will get most of that back when selling it at a higher price. Make it clean, fix what you can and you should do well selling it. Less risk of losing a lot of...
Many have bought off the lot or cancelled orders and not paid 5k over. Do a search for something like "bought from dealer" .
Use the Ford site that search's dealer stocks and call or put your name on a list. Do a little work and save yourself some money maybe and get your Maverick at a...
"Are there a bunch of angry old people shaking their fist in here? "
Hell yes I'm angry. I'm 73. Got my truck 12/16 after 97 freaking days . Hope the dam thing lasts till I die. About ready to stop coming here with all the bitching going on,
Like your post.
I have decided not to use Ford Pass.
It has nothing I can't live without. I might use it when I hear it is problem free but for now not wasting my time.
Seems to be a source of aggravation for many but not all. Good luck users.
I park way the hell out in the unused spaces of parking lots. If I can, I park where I can drive out and not have to back out. Why....... 1. I hate door dings and backup accidents that happen a lot (like the OP's accident). 2. It is my exercise plan. I need to walk more so why not when...
I had to sign on the computer screen. I was not counting. Maybe 4 times. And I was financing 1.9% rate not zero.
I never read the fine print as it takes hours. I'm not worried about it. Everyone wants my money or me to use credit. I want to be left alone. Stop calling and stop sending me...
This is not true. I checked my Oroville CA dealer using the inventory tool the OP used. I did it every day from my build date to the date I picked it up it never showed up on any inventory search within 100 miles.
