  1. Rising cost of gas, war, inflation and the Maverick [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

For me I will be replacing my paid for 2013 gas guzzling V8 SUV that I no longer need for short money. Even though I could buy the Maverick with little out of pocket I plan to take advantage of the low rates and improve my liquidity while potentially earning a return greater than the interest...
  2. 2.0 Ecoboost, AWD, commuting in cold New England - what’s your MPGs? What octane?

Something is off...my wife gets about that in city driving with her 2019 Ridgeline.
  3. Tow Package

It is only about 800 more once you have eco boost and AWD. It might even help MPG if you are in a head wind or at altitude as it will shift down less. Worse thing I ever did was not get the tow package on my suburban.
  4. Good news for those whose order gets pushed to 2023 model year

Ok so still in a queue that potentially is constrained for their build and would get waitlisted over new 2023 orders that did not have constraints. So nothing really changes other than the model year of their vehicle. Oh and now new orders added to the mix...
  5. AWD Owners - Add weight in the bed for better traction in the winter?

Agree no need to add weight on an AWD truck.
  6. FX4 Gearing and Radiator and Cooling Vs 4K Tow Gearing and Radiator and Cooling

According to the order book, 4K gives you lower gearing compared to the FX.
  7. FX4 Gearing and Radiator and Cooling Vs 4K Tow Gearing and Radiator and Cooling

Tow ratings are subjective to some degree because there are a lot of variables in play. Altitude, heat, wind resistance (trailer surface area), vehicle wheelbase, tires, and of course how often do you tow and how far. You are right, most people would not be happy towing at the limit on a...
  8. Maverick vs. Tacoma

Tacoma is a bit of a land barge compared to the Maverick and I agree the low seating position is a disadvantage as well. When I say land barge I mean highway/street manners/handling. Not sure about the 0-60 times and all of that but I am guessing the Maverick could get up and run away from the...
  9. And I thought dealers were bad

Its a free market,,,,no one has to pay his asking price but as I always say there is an ass for every seat.
  10. If interior sound noise level is important to you, Sound Deadening (with Dynamat / Noico)!!!

Tell me about your 53! My dad has one in the same color but in non running condition I want to take on in about 2 years.
  11. $3,000 OFF - DEAL CLOSED - Fight OFF the Price Increase with Granger Ford

Please correct me if I am wrong. I thought allocation to dealers was based on historical sales volume and Granger was the top-selling Ford dealer in Iowa? If that is the case then Granger would get more allocations than other dealers, correct?
  12. Which do you think will have less problems/ better longevity the hybrid or eco boost?

No timing belts? Or are you considering that maintenance? Agree there should be fewer transmission-related issues with the hybrid since it is much simpler than the Ecoboost 8 speed and cannot be compared to the focus DCT. Cannot be compared to other CVT's either.
  13. Installed 2" lift kit and 32" BFG KO2 tires (no rub with some trimming)

My thoughts are that if you are planning on adding larger tires seriously consider the tow package as you get lower gears from the factory.
  14. Big Guy / Small Truck (Maverick) Review: Comfort & Ergonomics

Yeah, you are taking up room in the rear but my point was I could be comfortable without even putting the seat all the way back so I could accommodate a rear passenger and still be okay. Sort of like my Suburban I drive now.
  15. Big Guy / Small Truck (Maverick) Review: Comfort & Ergonomics

Agree with you on the seat moving back very far. I sat in one at the dealership last Friday and it moves back further than my wifes Ridgeline and had more legroom. I am 6'2" with a 34" inseam and felt like the legroom was more than adequate.
  16. Does the bed flex, due to unibody construction?

Less likely to flex than a body on frame IMO. Keep in mind this part of the truck supports the rear suspension and there are no rubber isolation spacers between the bed and frame like a body-on-frame vehicle. Basically, the body/cab/bed is all one piece.
  17. Reliability 2.0 vs 2.5

I think people need to fully understand that this is not a typically CVT and eliminates a lot of the moving parts of the typical CVT. Honestly based on what I see the CVT could easily be more reliable than the trans offered in the ECO boost.
  18. Three more weeks, then I am out.

    New here, can you explain?
  19. $3,000 OFF - DEAL CLOSED - Fight OFF the Price Increase with Granger Ford

Is there another step after my order has been confirmed before it is scheduled or is the next step after confirmation the scheduled build date email? The reason I asked is my local dealer mentioned a verification step as part of the order flow process.
