I have Ford Protect (Lincoln Protect) on my '15 Navigator. I am typically not a warranty buyer as I maintain my vehicles, fix as needed and move on. For the Navigator (Still in place for 140k miles to Sep 25) it has been worthwhile as the Navigator has been temperamental. Dealer service dept has...
I've very optimistic that the transmission and engine are solid. I share the same outlook on the Hybrid battery and will likely be feasible on replacement. Am optimistic that this vehicle will work well for a very long time with proper maintenance.
I did not realize., but that is good news as I wanted the Silver color.
@Moderators, please close this thread as the issue has been discussed and solved.
Anyone have any insight on why the following colors available on XL Fleet only. With the loss of Alto Blue, was hoping for a vehicle to match my Silver car.
Carbonized Gray Metallic
Iconic Silver Metallic
I siphon gas often, live in an area where I use my generator to keep my fridges running.
Use this one.

No mess on truck, easy peasy. Siphon hose with check valve.
Anyone have an estimate on the last scheduling for the 2023's? It is not looking optimistic that my Hybrid is going to make it. I do not plan to order a 2024 unless there is an incentive given to customers who ordered in good faith.
Found my twin. I too have a Navigator (15) and soon perhaps an Alto Blue Hybrid Maverick.
Am optimistic that the eCVT drivetrain in the Toyota's and Fords are solid and will last for many years, if not abused.
No accessory belts, no clutch engagement, no shifting, no solenoids. The accessories...
That was a good reminder. The way stuff is going with the auto makers, I fear that Remote Start via Ford Pass may morph to a subscription. Or get obsoleted in a few years. Just added Remote Start to my order.
Thank you everyone. Supporting what I thought about the back seat.
Now considering not getting a Maverick and switching to an F-150 V8. I just think long term that Maverick back seat is a no go for my use case.
I would consider a Ranger but it has a Turbo. No more Turbo's coming my way under...
Having some second thoughts to procure the Maverick and it centers around the back seat.
Does not fold flat
Bench, cannot access storage unless seat is clear
The design of this is fine if people are riding. Most of the time, I have stuff in the back and use the vehicle solo or with a single...
I did not read much of this multi page topic. Sorry if already pointed out.
Would you still buy a PHEV Maverick if total capacity was reduced by 600 to 1000 pounds? Think substantial impact on occupants plus cargo and possibly 1000 pounds towing.
In all fairness, the 5 days of ordering was madness. I had looked at the 2022 packages and was initially ordering based on those. The sale rep I am working with was knowledgeable, but also playing catch up with the change of information and flurry of orders. Between the two of us (along with...
To be clear, this is posted to get the humor out of 'Tow Knobs' and nothing else.
On Automotive forum on an unrelated board, someone was trying to purchase a vehicle and took their troubles to social media. One thing that came of it is 'Tow Knobs'.
If interested ... this is the thread on the...
OP is so right about light trailers, if one wants to haul occasionaly that is a great option. Small trailers to rent are cheap.
I used to have a 3'x5' utility trailer (died in remote Arizona and I gave it away). It fit in the garage and I was able to park my 4runner with it. Could hook it up...
Great explication. A few items I want to add
Starter on the sun gear with the ICE on the planet carrier. This setup should last the entire life of the vehicle. No gears around the flywheel for a starter to engage. Will never be under the vehicle to replace the starter. (Been there a few times)...
