It would work if it was lifted high enough (on a tall antenna) but then you have resolution limitations as the system would need to digitally crop in significantly. Wide angle lenses work best when they are as close to the object you're trying to see.
I.e. dash cameras can't even read license...

The few times I had it alert me I was definitely very close to the line of "could be an accident". I'm glad the system is there.

You had time to intervene and the system let you with a friendly warning.
I think it only applies brakes when it determines your distance and speed are outpacing your possible reaction time.

I wanted to keep my roof tent as low as possible for MPG.

Drove truck, parked, locked it, came back in AM, unlocked and 12v battery was dead.
No power on ignition until I used a jumper pack. Charge battery on tender and drive the truck as normal without issue for weeks until it happens again randomly.
