I love this idea, but I don't think you could close the tailgate even without the bike in the roof tray:(. Maverick has a baby sized bed haha. There is a 1up tray for sale locally, but I cant figure out a good way to make it work for me.
I have been wondering this same thing. Problem is my 29er is pretty long, would need to have the tailgate down no matter what. I can't think of any quick way to get a roof rack to work in the bed with it being so short.
Resurrecting this thread. Wondering what kind of mileage you are getting with these tires with regular daily driving? Considering these in the same size for my Hybrid.
Those seem like good options, but 3 times the price and I don't really want to obscure my bed. The tailgate pad seems like a good option, but all the grit and crap around here would get under the pad and cause issues. I'm pretty ocd with my paint protection etc with this being a new truck I'm...
I wonder if this one could be flipped https://www.1up-usa.com/product/2in-super-duty-single-bike-rack/ to lower it? Something about having a hitch pin makes me feel better, but I'm sure the quik is plenty good for my needs.
Nice! So it looks like you have the quick rack single? Feels plenty secure? Thought about the 2" super version, but I don't think you can do the flip trick on the receiver that you cleverly figured out. Thanks for the info!
I'm trying to get out on the MTB 3-4 times a week this summer. After works rides / weekend adventures. Trying to decide which kinda bike rack solution to go with. Any frequent Mountain Bikers happy with their rack choice for the Maverick? 99% of the time will be 1 bike. Full Squish 29er. I...
I'm going to make the exact same request to my dealer. Do you inspections, then DON'T TOUCH! I can only imagine the kind of dingbats they have putting swirl marks in all the new cars leaving their lot.
