I love this idea, but I don't think you could close the tailgate even without the bike in the roof tray:(. Maverick has a baby sized bed haha. There is a 1up tray for sale locally, but I cant figure out a good way to make it work for me.

I have been wondering this same thing. Problem is my 29er is pretty long, would need to have the tailgate down no matter what. I can't think of any quick way to get a roof rack to work in the bed with it being so short.

Get any rubbing on the bumper from the tires?

Resurrecting this thread. Wondering what kind of mileage you are getting with these tires with regular daily driving? Considering these in the same size for my Hybrid.

Nice! So it looks like you have the quick rack single? Feels plenty secure? Thought about the 2" super version, but I don't think you can do the flip trick on the receiver that you cleverly figured out. Thanks for the info!

Miata / Maverick combo is the way to go! That's what I'm going to have once my Mav shows up. Already have the Miata.

These are high on my list as well. Great on the weight.
