Holy cow! My family used to vacation there back in the 1970s. When gas jumped from 50 cents to 75, we almost canceled once. Awesome place.
Oh yeah, the trucks are nice too.
It does fit but not in a way that I'd want to carry it when the rack works as good as it does. It's a Redline Conquest Classic cyclocross bike, 30 lb steel frame beast, 70" end to end, not electric. The front wheel has a dynamo so it's not a quick release and would be a chore removing it every...
Good for you. My bike is way too long to fit without taking the front wheel off so it's much easier to use a hitch mounted rack. The one downside is that it blocks the camera in reverse but I'm happy to use the rack.
Hard to tell from the back but is that camper the Tenfold or the Bruin? Also, how badly does the gap between it and the truck's roof affect your mpg? As soon as I'm able I'm getting one of those campers. Looks great. Thanks for sharing.
I'm 6'4" and can only stand up in the middle of those A frame trailers. Hell, I can't even fit the bed of the Maverick but a pop-up type camper ON the truck... queen sized mattress would be perfect.
I hear you but weighing the options; towing something vs having what I need on the truck = worth the price. There are already competitors out there but I like the rectangular and hard sided insulated one for year round camping, which is my ultimate goal.
I didn't say it was the same day I got the truck. It's just that it was the first thing I bought, about a month later! It's a hybrid and it's getting outstanding mpg.
I've texted the owners and they said they'd make it fit the Maverick, adding they've done a few already. It would be great if they updated their website to show it.
My 2025 XLT hybrid replaces a 2008 Honda Element. It supposedly would have lasted another 200,000 miles according to my mechanic but it needed a lot of work. Hopefully this truck lasts as long. It gets nearly double the mpg so that's a great thing.
