Maintenance is less on the ecoboost. Every 60,000 miles the timing belt has to be replaced on the boxer. The ecoboost has a double roller chain, good for 100,000+. It runs about $2000 every time you have to replace the boxer timing belt. If you don’t, you run the risk of a piston going through...

No, they have to meet the same standards as a traditional windshield. All windshields are laminated, the acoustic ones have lighter glass. So they may be more susceptible to cracking from rocks, but they still meet the dot standards.
