So a “modified“maverick manages to run in the high twelves beating a stock C 5 vette. Of course you could modify and turbo charge that LS1 in the vette and get it to run tens. If they compared the “modified“maverick with the Z06 version of the C5 w/ the LS6 which bone stock ran in the 11’s, old...
I’ve lived in the arctic for 28 years, in the winter I air up to 38 Lbs on passenger rated tires. When it hits -40’s the pressure will drop to 29 lbs. Once the flat spots even out and they warm up from driving they will raise to 31-32 lbs.
For daily driving, the 20¢ per gallon difference isn’t worth it.
Most modern engines run just fine on 87 octane, you start to see a benefit with octane on higher output engines. Primarily in a track setting.
Once the temps get lower than -10 you start to actually cause damage to the engine if it’s not pre warmed. Most will start but at those temps even a 5-30 full synthetic oil turns to molasses.
At -42° which we had this morning the block needs to be heated as well.
It should also warm up at least...
When I ordered mine I figured I would just let auto trim design do the spray in bed liner. When they give me a vin I will probably try to see if I can order the bed mat from ford. When I get the second 45 day email stating bla bla clown world supply bat flu issues I’ll just wait till February...
What was the temp outside? Up here we usually plug in at 20° above, that said it should still start in single digits. You should let ford know if it is giving a check engine light after only a few days in those temps. If it’s a glass mat battery or sealed battery, they do not like cold...
If you are going to do it yourself you can get them at Napa, even Amazon caries them, usually they are 4x5 silicone pad that you glue on w/ high temp rtv silicon.
just About every shop up here offer’s winterizing for about 500$.
It is cheaper to do it yourself but you Have to run the wires so...
It should take the 2057 bulbs just like every other vehicle out there.
They even make 2057 led bulbs if you so desire.
They do last a long time, I’ve yet to replace the 2057 brake lite bulbs on my 2001 2500 HD. I’m the original owner.
Sounds like it needs to be winterized. Did you order it with the block heater, then have the dealership install trans pan heater, oil pan heater, and battery tender? You live in a cold climate, it’s hard on any vehicle.
Just about every mid sized vehicle recommends 35 psi, including some larger trucks like the F150. The maverick is basically a station wagon with a small truck bed In place where the third row seat would go.
These vehicles come with passenger rated tires, so 35 psi is generally the recommended...
