That could be the same issue, the sound was a little different but it's close enough that it probably is the same. I didn't see any reports in that thread of an electronic burning smell but I only scanned the whole thread quickly.
I'm fairly sensitive to over reaction type stories but in this case I only detailed exactly what happened. The techs at the dealership were baffled and they initially were also worried it was going to go up in flames. It was startling to say the least.
That new app is so bad, it's almost like they are purposely trying to make their customers angry. Thankfully I'm on Android so I was able to go back to the older version of the app. Hopefully they'll make some serious improvements that new app soon.
I had a crazy and awful experience with my Maverick Lariat Hybrid today. At one point smoke started filling the cabin.
I left work early this afternoon to finish up some last minute Christmas shopping. When I started the truck there was a very loud ear piercing crackle that came out of the...
Yes, it's definitely much better if it's just included the infotainment center but I also understand why some wouldn't want to get the Lariat just for SiriusXM. Supposedly for the 2022 model SiriusXM was only available on the Lariat due to the global chip shortage. Now that we're mostly over...
Not only do they drive an XLT Maverick but in the first episode they clean up a neglected 1972 Maverick! Thanks for the show suggestion, I never knew this show existed. This is the problem with streaming sites, there is so much content that doesn't show up as suggestions on the main page. So...
The Sirius app works with Android Auto however, it doesn't work great. This is one of the main reasons I went with the Lariat over the XLT. I'm a channel surfer and rarely leave Sirius on one channel for more than 2 or 3 songs in a row. Channel surfing on the app, even with Android Auto is...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Seeing as that SSM specifically says SYNC3 equipped vehicles, I'll have to say it would not apply to you. But you should check with your dealership service department to see if there is a similar SSM or TSB for your specific model.
At the very least your dealership should be checking for any Ford issued TSB's & SSM's that could be related to the issue. If the deep sleep issue continues for me I'll be right back at the dealership asking what the next steps are. But I'm really hoping that the reprogramming of the TCM that...
I finally got an appointment at the dealership on Friday and they said they couldn't duplicate the problem (as expected) however they did reprogram the TCM based on Ford's Special Service Message SSM 51725. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10237977-0001.pdf
So now I'll have to see if...

I had an appointment at the dealership on Friday for the deep sleep issue so I asked them to update the the radio to latest SYNC3 software update while the truck was there. They installed the update and now everything seems to be back to normal with the radio. Thankfully it was something easy...
Maybe that was part of the reason for the keypad no longer being offered but Ford also removed it from the 2023 Edge and they claim it was due to lack of customer interest in the feature. I guess if they figure it's something that most customers don't care about these days then they might as...
The Google search is good but actually I've had good luck with the site search by always clicking the box for "Search Titles Only". When I do that I almost always find what I'm looking for. In the rare instance that doesn't work then I use the Google search.
Thank you! I have been checking for updates on the Sync system for a while but it either just keeps spinning saying it's checking for updates until I just stop it or it says there are no updates available. I'm guessing the over the air updates don't actually work on these systems. I did read...
I have searched for many things. The trick is to search thread titles only, whenever I do that I'd say over 95% of the time I find exactly what I'm looking for. There is a box on the search drop down that you can check to search only thread titles.
Example...
I don't that's the case because they are all blue window stickers which means dealer ordered. If they were customers ordered the window stickers would be green and it would say special order under the total MSRP.
And man those mark ups just rub me the wrong way, I won't do business with...
Just search for Google for Gentex Auto Dimming mirror. The Kia mirror that everyone was. recommending is a Gentex mirror with a part number for Kia. Gentex makes universal auto dimming mirrors with or without Homelink.
