I'll be getting a 2.0 Ecoboost AWD Maverick (probably with the 4K tow package) and want to do a few things to it. IMO 250 hp and 277 ft/lbs is excellent but I'm thinking about maybe a tune and open filter intake to get it to around 300 hp / 340 ft/lbs would be even better. Other than that, I'd...
Does anyone happen to know what our OEM wheel specs will be? I'll be getting the XL AWD which comes with 17" steel wheels, however I am curious about what the bolt pattern, center bore and offset will be just to get an idea of what's available for our pickups in the aftermarket.
The interior space matters a lot to me as I have a wife and 3 kids (16,7 & 1). We manage this in our 2017 VW Golf Sportwagen, though I admit it is a tight fit especially with a rear facing infant seat in the middle. I'd like to think that the Maverick can handle this at least as good but...
Based upon the platform that the Maverick is built, it would be easy for FoMoCo to put in the 2.3 Ecoboost and a 6 speed manual in it. Any chance of that actually happening?
As others have said FWD on Winter tires is much better than AWD on all season tires. Of course the best combination would be AWD on Winter tires. That said I got by on fwd cars and Winter tires living in central Maine for years. Just invest in some good Winter tires and you'll be fine with fwd.
Thanks for sharing that with us. I have that same Greco car seat and being 5' 11" was worried that it might not fit comfortably. I'm also going to reevaluate my color choice, I wanted Area 51 but that Cactus grey looks really nice as well. Hmm, decisions.
Having lived in both MA & ME, I mostly agree with you. My VW Golf Sportwagen is FWD and I got by fine during Maine winters with good winter tires. That said, there was always that one or two times each Winter that I had to literally back down whereas if I had AWD, I probably could have made it...
I'm going with the XL AWD version myself because while we no longer live in Maine, we still do our annual Winter trip there to visit family and friends. I miss Maine in the Summer!
I got to say that Ford really hit a grand slam with the Ford Maverick! I'm 50 yrs old and never in my life have I considered a pick up truck until the Maverick. I've been driving mostly manual European wagons for the past 25 years. I was in the market for something somewhat compact that seats 5...
Exactly! Go for the higher quality ceramic tint. It rejects heat much better than non ceramic tint. Not sure how dark you can legally go in Alabama but here in neighboring Mississippi, we're allowed to go to 28 (although you can get away with 20 without getting attention).
