I've been hearing their "$50 over invoice" ads for decades, so I'm curious if anyone actually manages to get one for that price without buying a bunch of dealer-installed options.
I finally had a chance to do the online chat with Ford, and I now have a VIN, with production scheduled for the week of 9/26. 9/17 order, Hybrid XLT w/Lux and 360. Woo!
I'm leaning towards upgrading my Hybrid XLT to Lariat if I have to reorder. Maybe the extra boost in profitability will incent Ford to finally build me a truck.
Counterpoint:
I ordered a Hybrid XLT Lux in mid-September. Another forum member ordered a Hybrid Lariat Lux from the same dealer on the same day. His truck was scheduled over a month ago. Mine, to the best of my knowledge, has not.
Lariats are more profitable for Ford. When faced with where...
That little piece of joy has landed in my inbox. Constraints or no, it's more than a little disgusting that a 9/17/21 order can't get built in over a year.
My daughter says she'll wait it out. Can we keep a 2010 Mazda CX-7 alive for up to another year? I guess we'll find out.
It means that only 40% of all Mavericks built can have the hybrid engine, which has always been the case for 2022 models. Ford estimated 40% of buyers would want the hybrid, and made purchasing plans accordingly. This is why hybrid orders were stopped in November, while Ecoboosts could still be...
No, it's not quite the same situation as yours, but my name is on the order, while hers would be on the title. If Ford forces the dealers to be sticklers about this, would I have to title (and insure and register) it in my name, wait for the title to come back from the state, then gift it to her...
That is a good question. My order is intended to be a college graduation present for my daughter, and I plan to have the dealer title it in her name. Am I going to have to jump though some stupid hoops with the state DMV to do this, just because some Ford dealers are sleazy?
Things are a little better for my local dealer, but a few months ago 80% of the new vehicles on their website were commercial truck cab/chassis. The remainder were a few EcoSports and a solitary Mustang.
Today makes 8 months since my Hybrid XLT with Lux & 360 order. I can't decide if I should chat with Ford and be disappointed, or remain ignorantly hopeful that my truck has a build week.
I'm a 9/17 order with the same build. I have a very strong suspicion that the very first priority is "Given the parts we have on hand this week, which builds will make more money for Ford this quarter?" So Lariats get built, while we wait.
I've seen four. One in Denver over the holidays, one last week near Lawrence, KS, and two in Olathe, KS today. One was parked in front of Applebee's, the other was the demonstrator at the Ford dealer. (I find it interesting that they're holding on to it, since they can't take orders again until...
