I'm on Google Fi and they give me a free extra sim for any devices, I keep it in my old phone so that I can just put it in hotspot mode. I'm not sure how it compares speedwise to a proper wifi modem tho.

It seems to me the investment for them is in the pattern for the seat cover, then to offer it in a matching blue is a material cost since I doubt they make their own pleather, they would just order it from the material supplier. I realize I may be totally misunderstanding how this works.

Its not generational or warranty based, certainly not across the board, it's hotrodding. There is no logic or financial sense needed, its a drive to see if you can make it better/faster/etc. Sometimes it takes form in other mods not directly related to the powertrain, but its still the same kind...
