I just installed passenger and driver side kick plates for my 25 MAV. I didn't realize how much wire was exposed until I went to install the plates. Pretty crazy that Ford couldn't even put a piece of plastic on either side. At least @Maxzina is providing alternatives. Anyways, I'm really happy...

While the thought is interesting, the facts are that snow can be very heavy and if you're backing up into a snowbank, You can only go so quickly and the thought of hitting a snow bank and crumple zones come to mind... I have a hybrid too and can't go superfast I'm reverse because the engine revs...
