very good points. i worked at a Ford engine plant and we built them with tolerances of +/- 8 microns, thats incredibly tight for those who dont know. but... EVERY engine ever built then, now, and in the future will experience some 'wear in'' .
agree, especially for those folks in colder climates that have to contend with snow and ice in the winter. but, wouldnt 4x4 drive and a extra electric motor require a larger more powerful hybrid battery?
i am not a engineer(not even close) but phone batts are routinely charged to 100% or close to "full".
this is known to shorten battery life while at the same time degrading the battery's ability to hold a charge. the same is true of hybrid & electric vehicle batteries as well i believe.
