  1. New Maverick Recall: 2.5 Hybrid Engine Fire Hazard [Updated w/ Safety Recall Notice to Dealers]

It is a really small rate of engine failures to the overall recall group. You could look at it as Ford being proactive. It's the things not addressed that are lurking in any new model release that could get any vehicle. Even Toyota has the wheels falling off their new EV and the rear axles...
  2. New Maverick Recall: 2.5 Hybrid Engine Fire Hazard [Updated w/ Safety Recall Notice to Dealers]

I'll be curious to see if knocking out a few active grill shutters lowers mileage. I am guessing slower to warm up on extremely cold days? But you would think if the engine was hot enough to promote combustion, the grill shutters would already be open?.... You can't feed me enough information...
  3. Did your Maverick catch on fire or Suffer Engine Failure?

I like the bilge blower.ha .. I think I'll just wait until the next service and not worry about it. Probably lose a mile per gallon when they cut holes in the front.
  4. Did your Maverick catch on fire or Suffer Engine Failure?

I was looking up an earlier recall on the crankshaft issue. (i'm not sure if it's this one or that is similar for 2021 Hybrid for the Escape, Corsair "Part 573 Safety Recall Report" but in that one 23 crankshafts missed a polishing process, which wound up in a possible 200 engines. Seems like a...
  5. Maverick hybrid 700mpt fuel economy

I'm still averaging about 46 since April
  6. 10,000 mile HYBRID review

Only 1,300 miles on an XLT hybrid since April. (I have two other vehicles) but the drivetrain has been flawless. I'm a manual transmission person and hate autos particularly CVTs, but this eCVT doesn't feel like a rubber band. The downhill regenerative pretty much figures out what to do to keep...
  7. Installed Gator soft tri fold cover

I didn't need to trim the metal from the body is at the same level as the plastic trim
  8. Installed Gator soft tri fold cover

I ordered this on recommendation from this post. Arrived in two days after ordering and I'm pretty satisfied. For the price, it's a good quality build. It's really light. You could easily take it off yourself in a few minutes. Has a seal all the way around so it's watertight from rain. Fold back...
  9. Anyone else having daily issues with infotainment?

Other than the screen being way too dark almost to use the backup camera in many circumstances, even turned all the way up. I haven't had any issues on a Feb-March build.
  10. Rolling Average? 9,700 mile Review and Fuel Economy Check-In, Hybrid Lariat

I must be in the same world... but my average in 948 miles is 46.1 I can get about that on the highway.... and when I really try hard i can get some amazing hypermile moments.
  11. Lower Gas Mileage in Hybrid

Over the first thousand miles my overall average is 46 mpg. I can usually get that on the highway with the AC on going. 55/65. It's pretty much entirely how you drive it and use eco mode. If your foot goes up and down rapidly on the accelerator, you like to blast out of ramps and you don't use...
  12. Answered, thank you! - Help me understand if the Maverick can tow a 1,707 pound trailer.

I mean you're likely to get pretty horrible mileage towing that amount of weight with the hybrid...or the EB. So your question should be... What would the mileage be with either drivetrain at your total towing weight. Maybe the 4K package isn't a whole lot different.... Unless you're planning on...
  13. $800 Front Axle Replacement

Lifting the vehicle will change the angles of associated front end associated parts and axles and takes it out of the original design and testing, so it's a valid to think it wouldn't be covered by a Ford warranty. If it's a Ford part and installed by the dealer, it's been tested. It's great...
  14. Reviews by "experts"

A lot of these reviewers are used to driving and comparing $70,000 trucks or exotics. When was the last time there was a base of anything to review. Plus some reviews are paid by manufacturers. I think it's pretty much like anything else. Where are you have to sift sift sift take the bits and...
  15. DIY - 1” Rough Country leveling kit install!

Yeah I'm sure the tires would drop it more than the leveling.... I'm averaging 45.6 mpg on the first 500 miles with the hybrid. I haven't been using it for my daily work because everything gets trashed for that and I need a tinier car for city parking etc. So most of the Maverick driving is slow...
  16. DIY - 1” Rough Country leveling kit install!

It's funny, I'm so used to seeing these stock, it looks like someone stole half the engine and it's now high in the springs in front. Wonder how much that kills the fuel economy?
  17. 150 miles @ 75 mph, 29 mpg. No bueno.

I like the second post that was going 80 mph looking for clarification. It's an aerodynamic brick that's high off the ground. Also, I've seen some pretty heavy headwind in Texas. I once had a 60 horsepower VW diesel. I couldn't get going more than 50 miles an hour once I got out behind a truck...
  18. Is Dealer Getting Shady ?

My dealer also checked the internal computer stuff about the price after it arrived and I had driven it. And it matched the sticker. It's kind of a reasonable thing to do with an order that is 9 months old.
