I just don’t want the tailgate, of any weight, to free fall. I do miss my Silverado easy up tailgate.

I believe Realtruck can advise you on your original question, tonneau/rack compatibility question. I originally wanted to do that and did some research. IIRC there is at least one combo that can work. I ultimately went with a Leer HF650 tonneau which is not compatible with any racks. However...

I bought the cheapest NOCO, a Genius 1 on Amazon. Now about $28. It does the job.

In preparation for possible used vehicle price bump from tariffs, I started checking current offers for my 2024 Lariat Hybrid with 4,000 miles. I’m only seeing $30-32K. Carvana, CarMax, Echo Park. I just wanted to get a comparison base. So, $21K for your 2022 XLT doesn’t seem low to me.

Size matters(that’s what she said anyway). MPG matters. Price so so. Like many, I wasn’t ready to end a lifelong relationship with owning a truck of some sort. Maverick, IMHO, is the soul owner in previously mentioned categories. It fits my garage with room to walk by front or back with door...

I can’t recall having to do any mods to the OEM flaps, or the section of Mabett flairs that overlap. I’ll see if I can find the thread where others have detailed installations.

I think that big one was 250-300 lbs. This one we couldn’t do more than roll it away from the flower bed ring. It’s gotta be 350+! My ‘3 man’ was an 18 year old, 16 year old & 73 year old! 😲
