You're right. I make a lot of street rod parts. Taking a flat piece of metal and shaping perfectly smooth in any given shape takes a lot more time and dollars than Ford is gonna invest in a lowly heat shield.
That's a stamped piece of sheet metal. In order to bend it to fit the contours has to compromise by bending and rippling in spots. I'll put $100 on the fact it was never smooth to begin with.
I'm sure they'll be happy to accept your application and marketing expertise.
And I didn't say "niche vehicle". I said "niche the Mav would fit in" as in the existing small truck market.
Ford announced in January 2019 the plans to produce a compact pickup along with showing off a pre-production prototype.
In order to have that prototype truck there was development LONG before 2019. The problem is the layman has NO concept of just how complicated it is to create a new vehicle...
I think the focus group found that there would be a niche that the Mav would fit in and generate a reasonable first year amount of orders. Enter the previously mentioned sh**show and people who would have bought the F150 are now looking at rising gas prices and now want a more economical truck...
Ford coming out with a new truck that ends up being more popular than they could have imagined in what unfortunately coincided with a worldwide sh**show of pandemic and the resulting domino effect it caused is a major feat on their part.
And those that are pissed, it isn't so hard to see, are...
There's all different kinds of stainless and some have iron in them. Those will still surface corrode but not rust through. Want stuff the won't corrode at all, go with a 304 stainless.
I don't think the plastic panels scratch any easier than any other car I've had, Ford or not. It's just a factor of plastic not having any give. Better plastic than vinyl. Vinyl would have a much more noticeable tear in it.
You will absolutely NOT be compensated for any ADM paid at purchase. This is one of those situations that people paying over MSRP will come out on the short end of the stick on.
