I had the McGard on my F150. They're just glorified hose clamps. All they will do is make it difficult for a opportunistic thief to just twist the tailgate off and run. Any thief that has the ability to have the time to defeat the "lock" will get your tailgate anyway.
Save a bunch of money and...
Rather than "missed the target age" I'd say maybe they underestimated the popularity it would find in other age groups. Some of us, myself included, find they don't need the bigger trucks anymore.
They're there because of our ancestors who didn't wear their seatbelts in cars with airbags or drove recklessly in top heavy vehicles that sued after they had an accident. Same with the Ruger.
