It would be nice. The window motors are different with auto up $70 retail each. I wonder if the BCM (body control module) or other module might also control the windows that is different. The master switch with auto up seems to be $40 retail according to my system
Every car I have owned previous was fine, no buffeting. Not sure why it is so bad on this one. Just to be clear I am talking about the sound effect that makes it feel like year eardrums are popping.
The New Ford 8F35 8-speed Transmission (advancedtransmission.com)
That explains the close ratio of 3.31 (2nd) and 3.01 (3rd) and then the big gap to 1.92 (4th). The transmission design originally had another gear between 3rd and 4th that was eliminated.
I do have the rear slider but have not tried opening it yet. Too lazy to open and close it every time I get in and out. I got it more for the occasional long item from Home Depot. :)
Your not even making any sense. This is supposed to be a meaningful conversation about how the transmission was engineered. Not about you being mad the engineers seemed to have designed the truck to skip 3rd under hard acceleration. And there are all sorts of reasons to do this, why this exact...
Let me first say I love my Maverick since $26,000 makes it very easy to overcome the three things that really bother me.
First is the terrible wind buffeting with all 4 windows open. I always have my windows open and this drives me crazy. Leaving right rear window closed seems to fix the issue...
Gear Ratio Calculator (tremec.com)
If you can agree that the truck shifts twice to get to 60mph (1-2 and 2-4) then you can see by the gear ratios in our trucks there is no way that it can hit 60mph in 3rd gear. 6000rpm in 3rd gear in a non 4k tow 2.0L would be 45mph. That means the...
your truck will also shift from 2-4 if it shifts at around 45-48 mph. I am not saying it is the worst thing, just that it is odd to have a vehicle that skips gears under full acceleration. Avoiding another shift by avoiding 3rd gear might be quicker the way it is set up
No trans is fine. If you look at everyone's 0-60 videos it is identical to mine. The shifts and rpms are exactly the same. I calculated all the gearing, mph and rpms last night to verify my thoughts. This is just the way Ford designed it. I am sure they had reasons for 2nd and 3rd gear being so...
Anyone else notice that when you accelerate full throttle with the 2.0L the transmission goes 1-3-4? It might not be the worst thing since the 3-4 shift puts the engine at it's torque peak. It does feel odd since there is such a big gap in rpm. I do know that from 0-48mph it feels amazing...
AFE will actually maintain the factory cold air intake design by using the factory intake tube on the radiator support. What you gain is a 11% gain in air flow via a larger cone shaped filter. My daughter has one on her 2021 Forte GT and it is the same concept. Basically you get rid of the flat...
What paint did you use? Maybe even a picture of the spray can. I am probably going to do that for my steel wheels that I will be using in the winter. That color is the exact color I want to use.
Remove the tiedowns on the side you want out. Remove the small screw at the bottom corner next to the tailgate that goes through both layers of bedliner. Pull out towards the center of truck from the bottom on the side bedliner panel. When you put it back make sure to have it tucked under the...
The bedliner is marked on the backside for all the optional places you can cut it out depending on how you plan to use the truck. The side panel can be taken off in about 10 minutes and then you can drill the four corners of the hole you want to make and finish the straight edges with a little...
I can't imagine waiting that long. I sold our minivan for the same amount we bought it for 5 years ago. Then I had to borrow a vehicle for the last month while I waited for it to arrive.
I put in the Ford Drop in bed liner. Decided not to cut out for the side storage since I have enough room under the seats for everything I need. Plus it makes for a cleaner look and less junk getting under the bedliner through the huge cutouts. I also decided not to cut out for the 12v wiring at...
I have actually made my wife decide on the wheels for the last three vehicles. Everytime she has picked what I consider the best of the available options. I can never decide so I let her make the final choice of my top three. So far I have not been disappointed.
