If anyone wants to know why this early rust is concerning look up the issues with the Jeep Patriot and Compass subframes rusting. They didn’t do enough to protect them from rust and they were turning to dust as a result of the significant corrosion.

The bed has plenty of room for a 4x8 sheet, way more than the negligible difference a sibl takes up. The bed is not wide enough for everything though, and ford had to stop somewhere before they ended up building a full size truck.

To each their own, but that loss of functionality is quite the trade off for some wheels…
