Just picked up our 2022 Hybrid with 18,900 miles. They had it 9 days and I had to wait a month to get a loaner. As expected the plastic covers of the side airbags were filthy but it looks like nothing is miss fit, on a fairly quick look I didn’t see anything hanging out. They did take it back in...
I will probably regret taking my 22 Hybrid in on Wed, Air bags, turn signal, dash screen plus EGR warning I got in Febuary and the service manager talked me into getting the new battery cable installed because the offer expires in June. My only saving grace is I got a new Bronco Sport loaner and...
Its not can't make enough it's can’t make any. It’s a totally new model and it won’t hit dealers until this month. Just got the epa approval a couple weeks ago.How many Rangers have been shipped?
Seems like half the people commenting never read the article. This is data from Blackstone which people on this website quote like its the Bible. They tested many cars with oil sitting in their engines (the same oil) for years, a Porsche, Lincoln etc.
I have two BMW’s that we drive very little, a 2014 M235 manual I drive 1,200 miles a year. BMW/Mini used to say every two years, I really think for very low mileage drivers its just to get your vehicle in the dealership to get additional business and you are doing no harm. They have the same...

Basically they took oil sitting on a shelf for 14 years and it was fine, they then took cars with oil sitting many years and again no problems. After many tests they concluded it was mileage not age of oil, 6-12...
Just got my renewal quote from All State in South Carolina. They are raising rates 25% on average, my quote for 3 cars was actually up 28% and 2 of them we drive less than 2000 miles a year. The Maverick was the cheapest at $440 every 6 months. I was at $500 deductible on all 3 so I changed it...
The other day driving about 25-30 I reached down to get a piece of gum without looking, my hand hit the dial and put the truck in reverse (or tried). Fortunately the computer sensed a FU, the R started blinking yellow, a warning noise came on but nothing bad happened and it allowed me to put it...
I find that putting on touchup paint with the brush in applicators puts too much paint on and isn’t real smooth. I use the micro applicators which have small cotton or foam tips (Amazon). Not that you can’t use the brush for big scratches but small chips definitely worth buying the Amazon yellow...
Ford will probably have to do a random sample of effected trucks for inspection because they are only guessing at the number of effected trucks. Bring in 1-3000 trucks from different month engine production dates and tear into them to find the true number of potential failures. This won’t happen...
This situation is very similar to the BMW N20 issue of a few years ago. The plastic timing chain guard could break and the pieces could cause a block breach and engine seizures. A new engine in the X1 was well over $10K, BMW extended the warranty from 4 years 50,000 miles to 8 years 100,000...
I know what the holes were drilled for. It doesn’t do squat thus they say pull over and get out of the vehicle when the smoke starts. They are not going to put new engines in over 100,000 Escapes, Mavericks and Lincolns. They can’t even fix the cable sleep mode or airbags so you really think...
If it were me I’d wait, they basically admitted that the “repair” wasn’t the solution. I’d wait for the second “solution” which my guess is extended warranty.
I have no desire for a PHEV Maverick, price would jump $5K. Just follow Toyota’s lead and build mostly hybrids and Slowly see where the market goes with EV’s. Even BMW in Germany has not committed to switching to totally EV’s like Mercedes and Audi have. It may be 30-50 years Worldwide before it...
I have 2 BMW’s with Comfort Access, you walk up to the car and touch the handle and it opens and you push a button it starts. If you have to pull your key out to start your XL or XLT then the keypad is worthless. Flame-me but I would never leave my keys in a vehicle, make sure you hide it with...
16 months with a keypad and we’ve never used it, I didn’t read the previous 9 pages so I’m not sure what the purpose of the keypad is. I don’t even know the number to use it.
Hwy mileage is much greater than EPA estimate. My wife just drove from Columbia, SC to Cincinnati, Oh roundtrip 1,100 miles mostly hills and she got 42.5 mpg at 75-80 mile an hour. The computer is usually 1-1.5 mpg high but still that’s outstanding. 12,700 miles on it and we keep it in normal mode.
