In Australia and New Zealand they sell a PHEV Ranger. The battery range isn't great on its own, but where it shines is in hybrid/eco mode. I've read of people reporting up to 80mpg (in perfect conditions) while traveling with the truck set to hybrid mode. Most seem to report somewhere between 30...
Plugged mine in just to see. Not as good of an offer. '24 EcoBoost XLT w/ 4k tow package, lux interior, bedliner, and tonneau cover. Just hit 15,000 miles. I wonder how much the local market plays into what they offer? They offered $3,000 more if I said I was in Dallas as opposed to eastern...
Got an email today saying my Mav was included in a recall for "trailer module reprogramming". Went to Google and found the following article: https://www.autonocion.com/us/ford-recalls-millions-trucks-towing/
Website reports that just over 412,000 Mavericks between model year 2022 and 2026...
During the fuel crisis in the 1970s, the US instituted a national highway speed limit of 55mph to save on fuel. My grandpa told me it was a long painful drive on I-84 between Portland and Boise at only 55mph back then! Nowadays most people are going 70-80mph on that stretch.
Was your truck on perfectly flat ground or was there an incline? My driveway has a pretty noticeable incline and I learned only on that if I relied solely on shifting into park and not using the parking brake, it would make a very expensive clunking sound the next time I got in and shifted into...
I went with the Nokian Outpost APT in 245/65R17 (up in size from the factory 225/65R17). They're advertised as an "all purpose tire" for crossovers, SUVs, and light trucks. From my research it seems to be a popular concept in Europe - a blend of an all terrain and all season tire. I noticed a...
It comes with drain hoses, but I have the drop in shell liner so the drain holes are blocked. I could've removed the shell and drilled out a hole to run the drain hoses through the shell, but I live in a very dry area (only 10-15" of rain per year, about the same as San Diego) so I didn't see...
Just switched from the stock tires to Nokian Outpost APT in 245/65R17. So far I've seen my average for highway and city drop about 1.5 mpg. The APT isn't an aggressive off-road tire so your results may vary depending what tire you go with.
Installed a Rough Country tri-fold tonneau cover. One of the prop rod brackets came from the factory broken but I called their customer support and they're sending me a replacement one at no cost. Took some tweaking get it lined up just right but I'm happy with how it turned out. The only thing...
Not familiar with this channel, but I like how he has a pre-facelift and post-facelift models side by side to compare. Seeing that the there is only a 14% difference in EB AWD vs Hybrid AWD for highway MPG is surprising. I figured it would've been more.
Just an update on MPG effects by tire size. I did a roughly 400 mile trip and averaged about 32.5 mpg highway (averaged about 34 mpg with the stock tires) and about 26 mpg city.
Welcome. I have family in Johnson County. Visited the KC area for the first time back in September. I quite enjoyed the trip. Seems like a nice area to live.
A few months ago I towed the 5x8 haul with ~2500lbs with no issues. I drove about 200 miles at an average speed of 60 - 65mph with about half of the trip in the rain. Felt like the truck did just fine. As for the slope on your driveway, I encountered a similar issue so I just parked the trailer...
This is how I get roughly $4000 off my 2024 model. It was early 2025 and a dealer was trying to clear off the last of the '24 models. Took a huge chunk off the price.
I looked closely at the Vredestein Pinza AT but I couldn't really find any real world reviews with good things to say. All the videos on YouTube, save for a very select few, seem to be paid reviews (who of course are going to say great things). The only review I could find from a real user...
The reality is that most people who own quarter-ton (and larger) trucks don't actually need them. Car manufacturers have done a great job over the last 30 years brainwashing men into thinking you need a truck to affirm your masculinity. Heck, I get dogged on by my co-workers for driving a Mav...
Just replaced the factory Continental ProContact tires with a set of Nokian Outpost APT tires. I also upped the size to from 225/65R17 to 245/65R17, including the spare tire which fit without issue. That gives about a half inch of surface width and half inch of height over the stock...
Ever since I saw that thread about Top Tier gasoline a few weeks ago, I've been making an effort to only fill-up at stations with Top Tier. I've actually noticed a slight drop in MPG (~28 > ~26.5) but I attribute that to winter blend fuel and the cold weather leading to me idle my truck to warm...
