2024 w/ 4500 miles.
87 octane.
Current average - 29.5 mpg
Most of my driving is to/from work which is a lot of country roads. Speed limits of 40-50mph with limited traffic. I live in a small town so "city traffic" is uncommon. It's not everyday I'm running into stop and go traffic.
2024 XLT Ecoboost. 4k tow, luxury interior, modular bedliner, and CoPilot 1.0. I really wanted to get the FX4 package too but I couldn't find one for sale anywhere that had both 4k tow and FX4. 4K tow was more important to me so I gave up the FX4 for that. I also really wanted it in the "iconic...
The remaining '24 models are getting snatched up quickly. I made the decision earlier this year to get a Maverick but I didn't like the look of the '25 models (it has grown on me after seeing them in person). At the minimum, I wanted a 2024 XLT EcoBoost w/ 4K Tow package. I looked at...
From the colors offered by Ford - Iconic silver or maybe space white. I really wanted a silver Mav when I started my search but couldn't find one on a lot with all the features I wanted.
From colors offered by other brands - Oakwood or Havana Brown from Chevrolet. I like earthy colors and I...
I bought off the lot because at the time I was looking to buy, they had stopped taking orders for 2024 models and were starting 2025. I am not a fan of the 2025 because they put the climate controls on the touch screen. I wanted a silver 2024 ecoboost XLT with luxury interior, FX4, and tow...
The Mozilla Foundation had a hit piece in late 2023 reviewing what a privacy disaster modern cars are. They have a more detailed write up looking at Ford's privacy policy. I'm a bit of a privacy nerd because I work in law enforcement. I've opted out of any individualized features (tracking...
Like many others, the system not remembering my drive mode is the most annoying. If I had a choice it would be in 'eco' mode all the time. Yes, it is only four presses, but it gets really annoying to have to click through the seatbelt screen and then tap through the drive mode every single time.
I like badge placement on the tailgate. I removed my AWD badge and put a EcoBoost badge instead. AWD badge was on the opposite side but I wanted to mimic the 'HYBRID' badge placement on those models.
I pretty much fall right in the targeted age demographic, the only difference is that I live in a pretty rural area. When the Maverick released though I was living in the suburbs of Portland and was eyeing a hybrid model. Where I live now though an AWD makes more sense because of our weather.
I actually don't remember, which is part of the reason I decided to make this thread. I swear that I read somewhere (here, maybe reddit?) that it was compatible with the top tray, but I can't find it now. This was super attractive to me because then I don't totally compromise the storage space...
I'm not entirely sure. Perhaps @Muslogy Auto could give insight into how their vault differs from the Ford/CV one. I want one that can still have a console tray sit over the top without modification. You can't do that with the ford one because of the big dial and huge tongue that hangs off said...
Looking at adding a vault to my Mav since I have my CCW permit. I need a place to secure the firearm because there are places where it can't always be taken. I'm aware of the Ford branded Console Vaults, but I do not like the price on them. I also have read that if you use the Ford center...
The white color option has really grown on me for the Maverick. A lot of people say they look like fleet trucks but that's not an issue if you have XLT or a Lariat. I feel like I see tons of cactus gray, area 51, etc. but not very many white ones out there.
Additionally, American Express has a coupon for 4% back for the Ford Accessories site right now. Between the discount and the Amex coupon, I saved about $70 on my purchase.
The Maverick was, in my opinion, a game changer for the American car market. The demand for small trucks was there but regulatory burden (CAFE, chicken tax, etc) made it a tall task for manufactures. Ford came out of left field with the Maverick and its quickly becoming one of the best selling...
It will be replacing my 2022 Subaru Crosstrek. I love my Subaru but at the time I bought it, I was living in an urban area and if I needed a truck I could easily rent one. Now I live in a very rural area and the ability to just rent a truck is gone. I need a truck, but still need something with...
I'm in the process of buying from Granger now. I did the math on it and even with the cost of flying there to pick up a truck and driving it home, I still save anywhere from $4k - $10k compared to buying locally. Plus it gives me the opportunity to do a little road trip through the Midwest...
