I bought this one a couple years back. Works good, But looks like the price went up (along with everything else). This one was one of the recommended ones by the Forscan site and instructions at the time. Good luck...
I have the Lasfit switch-backs also and agree with Glen, not really THAT bright. I like them and have had zero problems. My Maverick is a 2023 XLT and I do occasionally get flashed by those who think I have high beams on. Had the wife follow me to a deserted road not long after we bought it...
Had an intermittent battery issue causing it to work one day, not the next. That was back in the 70's, we hunted in some pretty nasty territory, bouncing around in old back breaking solid axle trucks. The plates can get damaged. Here is an A.I. take:
Yes, bouncing plates (internal damage) in...
I've never seen a seatbelt system so convoluted as this one on the Mavericks. Simple, clean, easy is not a language spoken by Ford software folks. No need for this level of sophistication. "KISS principle. always works. Just get a Forscan tool and turn all seatbelt...
I never turned trailer sway off in my 51 GMC. Never got dead and towed a lot. Kidding, of course. That said, why is trailer sway required if you don't tow a trailer?
Yeah, I looked it up after my coffee this morning. I need to quit reading so damn fast, as I miss things easily anymore. The thing I'm not sure about is why does trailer sway have to be on automatically every time vehicle starts? Most of us tow way less. Does sway control affect the Maverick...
Hey Glen, I know the traction control always comes back on after restarting the truck. But doesn't the trailer sway stay off all the time if you turn it off from the dash screen? Sorry, can't remember and just too darn tired tonight to look it up!
Hey Doc, I'm only 70 but have had cataract surgery which did help my eyes. I still had difficulty finding those lift points, but once I did, I used florescent green spray paint, about 1 inch X 1 inch right over those little triangle marks. I used a bright color so if I needed to jack it up in...
A visit to my youngest son. (old guy at 46) for a few days! Good history, did not know that about Ft. Collins, interesting. It's hard to do 65 because of everyone smokin by at 85-90. Would not consider any less speed and as the song goes "I Can't Drive 55". On some trips we will detour off...
Haha! But here are the "perfect" lyrics in a country western song, written by John Goodman, performed here by David Allan Coe, (among many others). Have to listen to the entire song to get to the 'gist".
There are many items that moving up from say XLT to Lariat, won't get you much. Most of us using Forscan, are wanting to turn off seatbelt nags and displays, ding ding ding, auto start/stop and many others. All of these are not available on a menu on the truck. Ford would be glad to do it...
Same here in Idaho. To get to the northern part of the state, there is ONE road. Hwy 95. You can get to McCall on Hwy 55, but it dead ends in New Meadows where I used to live. Then its 95 on up! I know a few old logging trails, but who wants to take a week to get to Sandpoint? Ha!
I just googled it and a nice outfit with many good features. The only con I saw was the phone app is difficult to get video's downloaded. Many reviews from a lot of different sites.
100 Gallon tank on my diesel pusher. Diesel is $5.16. Easy math, but still, it is what it is. Trip planned to El Paso in May as youngest grandson graduates high school. We will be making side trips when coming back home, Amarillo, TX, Ft Collins, CO, to Grand Junction, Co, then back to...
Interesting. I had forgot about some of those things that are similar to the "energizer bunny", just keep on going after Maverick is off. Wife drives 2014 4Runner and Evap pump comes on often after parked, but not until vehicle sets for 5 hours (if I remember correctly). Only runs about 5-7...
I agree. Crazy. No connection whatsoever to a Maverick. I would like to see a comparison with the M1 Abrams tank. 61 tons combat loaded and seats 4! 1,500 hp aircraft style turbine engine! Must have been a slow day with nothing going on at the How to Geek office.
It will be interesting to see how much longer my battery will last. While these newer vehicles are much more complicated than what I grew up with, seems they have many more issues that involve long and often expensive visits to the dealer. I see now why some say the dealers don't make money on...
