  1. Ford: Here's How Long We Torture Test Our Trucks Before We Hand You the Keys

Nice truck, the older Toyota's. Had a 1980 I bought new, solid axles front and back, 4X4, 20R engine if I remember correctly. Both my sons learned to drive on that rig and the oldest inherited it at age 19. Even he could not destroy it and he tried. I got it back when he got married and it...
  2. Electric winch

I'm waiting to see the fifth wheel in the back of a Mav with 4K tow package! Haha.
  3. Electric winch

Don't give us all a new idea Glenn. I think SOMEONE would mount that on the front of a Maverick! Hahaha.
  4. Senior citizen Maverick owners thread

NHRA drag racers would disagree on the spinning tires. And they hit 330 plus mph in 4.6 seconds or less in the quarter mile with a 10,00-12,00 horsepower car! Now, if i can transplant that engine into my Maverick...
  5. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

Did you charge battery in the vehicle or remove it and charge? Just curious.
  6. How the Hybrid and CVT works

No, Ford and Toyota did not sue each other directly over hybrid technology. Instead, both automakers were sued separately by Paice LLC, a company holding key hybrid patents, 0.5.1, 0.5.5. Both companies ultimately settled with Paice, and in 2004, Ford and Toyota actually signed a licensing...
  7. This will be the last Ford I buy

Seems Ford isn't the only one having issues. My 2014 4Runner has a system called "Entune" It works pretty good. The built in Nav is crap and no longer updated since 2016. Here is the current system, that seems has similar problems to the Ford Sync. Common Toyota Audio Multimedia system...
  8. This will be the last Ford I buy

My iPhone 16 works fine with the Connected touch version. I thought the Sync systems usually worked great with most phones, but that is not always the case it seems. I assume at some point a newer "system" will come out and Sync will go away? Hopefully the next generation of...
  9. This will be the last Ford I buy

Yeah, I could not remember the actual name, so I borrowed a "nick name" I had heard on here somewhere. Whatever they call it, it is not horrible but definitely not a refined nice setup. I'm so deaf these days it doesn't matter much. Ha!
  10. This will be the last Ford I buy

2022 -2024 XL and XLT don't use sync 3, but "base" system, also called "synch 2.5". The cheapo version for sure. Only Lariat has Synch 3 for those years.
  11. Maverick challenger from Hyundai?

Kind of reminds me of neighbors bulldog.
  12. Add audible alert to mirror lights for the blind spot monitoring system?

Strange. My Maverick has an audible alert. She screams very loudly. Sometimes she will slap me in the back of the head! Heck, had that same alarm on my 67 Charger 52 years ago! And she, I mean, that alarm can't be turned off.
  13. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

Cool, that makes sense to me. I think I'll start tinkering around with different things mentioned earlier, plugging in the trailer. My dash cam is hard wired, I may check that also.
  14. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

Ok, thanks. I will get a charge. Second question. Any way YOU could tell if I will get 0.0001, which I assume isn't going to be much help. Or 1,000, which may cause some smoke activity?
  15. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

I got to thinking, I run tail/park lights all the time. However, all my lights are LED. I wonder if that is enough to trigger a charge?
  16. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

Hahaha! As Sergeant Shultz would say, "I know nothing!!! " (no comment on any of my past indiscretions) I do have the legit sites though if anyone needs it.
  17. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

You are correct. Ran a small part time computer repair business out of my home for the last 25 years or so and still do work for neighbors/friends. A few have not wanted to pay for a license, but today one can get any Windows license activation key (digital) for about $8 bucks.
  18. 1976 Maverick No Recalls!

Ran across this by accident. Pretty nice vehicle, but no more room in my shop! Meridian Idaho, not far from me. If this is posted in the wrong place, admin, just send it where it needs to be, thanks...
  19. This single tip saves 20% gas!

Haven't see that in many a year. I've been laughing for an hour! Thanks!
  20. This single tip saves 20% gas!

Yup! And in paragraph 1 was an area where the law was changed. In other words, while there isn’t always a posted minimum speed, drivers are expected to maintain a speed that keeps up with the flow of traffic. The "flow of trafffic" can be 70-80 mph at times, even in the downtown corridor...
