I bought a throw away car. $900 2003 Ford Focus ZX5. Easy if anything needs a little repair and cheap to do. Though it's in remarkable condition with no body rot. It will get me through the waiting game.
You might want to opt for red if you it's unique you are going for. On this forum Area 51 is the most popular ordered color.

Already sold my 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. Bought in March this year, was offered more than I paid for it 6 mknths ago. Back to a Ford while waiting (rocking a 2003 Focus ZX5 manual transmission) for the new Ford.
When are we going to see even a digital rendering of a Carbonized Gray with First Edition graphics on it? We have seen the Area 51 digital online and the Rapid Red from the car show, where's the CGM love?
So I am New England based. I am right in Boston, MA. I shopped around local. I can not recommend any dealers around here other than Grappone in Bow, NH. Not for the Maverick or pricing but for their service. I had a 2013 Escape titanium that I got a run around from every Boston area dealership...
I would cancel. I did the same thing, had put $1000 refundable deposit down at the first dealership. Went with Chapman Ford in Horsham, PA (have family nearby and its less than 7 hours to get there from home) got the first edition and all the add on accessories I wanted for the price of a...
Peripheral vision allows you to see forward still while glancing at a side mirror. Looking down into the dash does not. You have a lot of assumptions in your response having not driven a vehicle with this option more than once and about someone you don't know. Age does not mean resistance to...
The only comment I will make here is that I have the "blind spot camera" in the Santa Fe. It's horrible. It's located in the gauge cluster and is dangerous to use while moving forward because you have to completely take your eyes off the road while changing lanes. The resolution is not as...
Oh it's by far the best option to come out in a long time. Especially if you fight with your co-pilot over the temperature, you just pop it on and you are nice and cool. It is also super helpful when you have those hot days to actually reduce some of the retained heat in both front seats.
City here. 80% of the drive is in the city under 30 mph. Had a '13 escape titanium with a 2.0 ecoboost and struggled to get 19 mpg combined. I do like to have the bed for dog gear (we have 4)since it ruins the inside of the vehicle, moving larger items (also ruins the inside of a vehicle) and...
Ok so I was a huge Rapid Red fan, especially with the First Edition graphics on it. I was even willing to wait for a late delivery to get it. Then I saw the interior photos of the Hot Pepper Red and I just couldn't do it. The B and C pillar red showing on the interior against the navy blue is...
Not related to the post linked here. That being said, I couldn't find a better deal than this place. Most are charging MSRP as then can, some even more. The build sheet reflects the dealer invoice and MSRP price and then they quote you the 4% below price as well. SUPER customer service from this...
Just a point to check out if you haven't, look up some of the outdoor walk arounds of the red models (I know most of these are Hot Pepper Red but still illustrates the point) and check out when you see the interior. There is some glaring red next to the navy blue on the A B and C pillars. I...
Agree on this. It's hard to take "predicted reliability" seriously. What is it predicated on? The escape hybrid hadn't been around for nearly a decade before the current one. This is opinion which is always a bias.
Has anyone heard this noise? From the government recommendations it doesn't have to be a specific noise, but should alert pedestrians to the vehicle and direction.
I was told it was an NHTSA requirement that was required to take effect with electric, battery, hybrid vehicles to prevent pedestrian injury while in the electric mode without audible engine noise. Not really a driver enabled option.
